A NOTE FROM MR. CLINE
Dear Charger Family,
Reminder that Monday and Tuesday are Teacher Workdays.
First, I want to thank our parents that came out for “Coffee and Connect” last Friday. There was great coffee, food, conversation and connection. I also want to thank our parents for doing an excellent job supporting your students through benchmark testing and PSAT Testing. Our Chargers did an excellent job showing off what they’ve learned.
Second, I’d like to give a huge shout out to Jadan Macon for winning the Steps Challenge! What a great accomplishment; keep it up! It is so important for our students to stay active to keep their minds sharp. We hope that everyone takes the challenge.
On Wednesday, we have required in-person PreACT Testing for all 10th graders. This test will serve as practice and preparation for the ACT Test that all 11th graders take free of charge in NC. The PreACT will help students become familiar with the test format and also help them learn their strengths and what they can improve on to prepare for the ACT. The test will also provide our school with data as we look for trends in student performance areas that we can respond to with additional instruction. We are working to help every student become career and college ready.
As we look to showcase our students and staff, please follow us on Instagram:

It is of paramount importance that we maximize instructional time and student engagement at CMVS. In light of that, we have explicated our attendance policy which can be reviewed below. Students must arrive at synchronous sessions on time. Students will not be permitted into class if they are ten minutes late or later as it is a disruption to the learning and halts the process of instruction for the teacher. Thank you for supporting your student’s success with this.
Have a great week!
John
CMVS will be starting a 2nd quarter attendance challenge. Attend all of your classes for the first week of school (this includes attending and participating in live sessions and completing all of your work) and you will be entered to win a gift card. There will be 5 winners and gift cards include Starbucks, Chick-fil-a, and Amazon.

UNDERSTANDING ANXIETY: HOW TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD
Hello! Please join us for a parent workshop on understanding anxiety and how to support your child. This will be taking place on November 13th from 12-1pm. Please sign up by November 1st, 2024 at https://forms.gle/j6rjd2TjqV4pfWuw8
TECHNOLOGY OR TEAMS ISSUES?
If you are having a tech issue, please fill out the Tech Issue Form. This will help issues be addressed as quickly as possible and help us keep up with our record keeping since there are only two of us handling these issues. Emails are harder to keep up with and do not leave a paper trail that everyone can access.
If you are having a Teams issue is please fill out the Teams Issue form. These issues are harder for us to troubleshoot in-house, but we are sending these request to the district for support.
Both of these forms are linked on the Tech Help page, which all students and parents have access to through links on all canvas pages and the CMVS website.
Please utilize these forms rather than emailing teachers and staff.
ALL PARENTS MUST COMPLETE THE EMERGENCY HEALTH FORM
