FLEX DAY: TOMORROW, March 10

FLEX DAY: Our final FLEX Day for this school year is tomorrow, Friday, March 10. Students will learn from home on that day. Teachers will Zoom with their class from 9:30-10:00 to tell students about the lessons and expectations for the day. Teachers are available in the morning if there are technical issues or if a student has a problem. Please email or have your child contact their teacher via Canvas. In the afternoon, teachers will be participating in professional development.

FAME Festival

FAME Festival is this weekend, March 11-12 at the Grand Wayne Center.

Covington students will have artwork on display at boards #310, #315, and in the Sculpture Garden.

Support Covington’s Choir by seeing the performance on Sunday 12th, 12:00 pm on Stage 1

Admission: $5 Adults, Children under 18 are FREE

Festival Hours Grand Wayne Center: Saturday, March 11: 9:00 AM –5:00 PM, Sunday, March 12, Noon –5:00 PM *NOTE: Time change this weekend!!!

Parking: At the Civic Center Garage (paid) and on the street (free)

The FAME Festival is the centerpiece of our public student art celebrations. Held every year during the spring, this two-day festival, across northern Indiana, features an average of 200 performing groups, 6,000 student paintings, drawings, and sculptures; and the FAMEous Imaginarium, a hands-on creative arts center as well as performances by our Visiting Artists, and the interactive Instrument Playgrounds.

·FAMEous Imaginarium over 10 hands-on-arts activities

·Art & performances in song, dance, drama & orchestra from FWCS, NACS, SACS, EACS, West Noble & Whitley counties will be represented.

·Try out an instrument in the Instrument Playgrounds with Quinlin & Fabish and Sweetwater Sound

Covington Spring Book Fair

The Covington Spring Book Fair is scheduled for March 20-24. Our PTC and parents always make this a fun event for our students and we could use your help. Follow the link below to sign-up and volunteer at our book fair. Sign Up

Flex Day: Friday, March 10

Friday, March 10 is our last SACS Flex Day this year. Lessons will be posted by 9:00 on Friday and teachers will be holding a class ZOOM at 9:30. This morning Zoom is a Community Meeting time to see each other online and allows students to understand the academic expectations for the day. Teachers will be available online to answer questions in the morning. Flex Days allow teachers time for professional development.

Birthdays at Covington

At Covington, we celebrate our students on their birthdays by reading their names on the announcements and giving them birthday pencils and cards. Our practice for summer birthdays is to read June birthdays in March, July birthdays in April, and August birthdays in May. So on March 1, we read those birthdays for March 1 and June 1. If your child has a summer birthday and you want to send in a birthday treat, please coordinate this with your child's teacher and to confirm classroom food allergies. Remember that birthday treats need to be store-made and packaged.

CES Yearbooks!

Flyers were sent home with information about purchasing the 2022-23 Covington Yearbook. You may purchase online or send in your order and payment to the school. All yearbooks are hardcover for $16.00. You may order online at inter-state.com/order. The flyer is also attached below.

Orders are due by March 29.
