Our 100th Graduation at Ranger Stadium - Let's make it a Community Celebration!
Graduation Day is May 28th at Ranger Stadium. We are coming 'Home" for NRHS' 100th Commencement! We hope the entire NR community will join us in celebrating our graduates this year, and every year, moving forward. Let's make Graduation Day a Community Celebration every year, beginning this year. Break out the grilles, set up the driveway, post signs and balloons - whatever - but let's celebrate!
We will be sharing lots of info with our senior families, beginning, like, now, and will keep everyone else informed as the big day approaches.
If you live in any of our many neighborhoods/developments in NR and would like to take the lead in getting a Grad Day display posted at your entrance, let us know. Email me :
Stay tuned!
Meet Principal Hignite
Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, Mrs. Meghan Hignite will be stepping into the role of Principal at North Ridgeville High School. Many of you may already know Mrs. Hignite, as she has served as one of our Assistant Principals for the past two years, forming strong relationships with students, staff, and families alike.
Prior to joining North Ridgeville City Schools, Mrs. Hignite spent ten years as a Social Studies teacher at Fairview Park High School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Mercyhurst University, a Master of Education from John Carroll University, and a Principal Licensure from Cleveland State University.
What or who inspired you to become an educator?
I was very lucky to be raised by educators. My mom is a retired paraprofessional and my dad is a retired school administrator. They ignited my passion for all things education, showing me the profound joy of working with students everyday, and they continue to be my biggest cheerleaders for my own education career. Not only that, but I had teachers in my life that had a profound impact on who I am today, and if I can have even half the impact on students that they had on me, I would measure myself successful.
What are you most excited for in this new role?
Ranger Nation is filled with incredible people (students and staff alike), and I am so lucky to get to work with them every single day. NRHS has a very exciting future ahead, and am eager to build on the relationships I have built over the last several years to ensure we continue to shine bright.
Do you have a favorite quote or motto you live by?
Actress Lily Tomlin is credited with saying "I always wondered why somebody doesn't do something about that. Then I realized, I was somebody."
This quote has always stuck with me because as a leader, I strive to be that "somebody."
Week 2 Testing Schedule
We are entering the second week of Required Ohio State Testing (OST)

Please plan ahead! See your teachers/counselors if you have any questions.
Calling all Alumni
Retooling the NRHS "Alumni Association"
In recent years, Alumni affairs have been managed by the NRHS Academic Recognition Committee (ARC). They have handled matters in a very caring way. Arc has returned the program to the school, and we thank them for their years of dedicated service.
Now, based on our legacy and growth, we are seeking to develop and sustain a permanent NRHS Alumni Association. As in communities throughout the country and across generations, NRHS hold a special place in the lives and hearts of Ranger Alumni.
We would like to invite any and all Ranger Alumni to participate, in any way, with this initiative.
I you would like to lead, follow, join or share contacts or other information that will help, please contact Brooke Roshong, Community Relations at:
Thank you! Go Rangers!

Spring Student Competency and Wellbeing Survey
As you may already know, building our social-emotional learning skills is an essential goal for our schools. In December 2024, students in grades 3-12 took the Fall Student Competency and Wellbeing Survey.
We will ask your child to take the survey again in May to ensure the programming was effective. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. NRHS students will participate in this survey on May 1st.

NASA Summer Experience
NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland is launching the NASA Glenn High School Engineering Institute this summer. The free, work-based learning experience is designed to help high school students prepare for a future in the aerospace workforce. Rising high school juniors and seniors in Northeast Ohio can submit applications for this new, in-person summer program from Friday, April 11, through Friday, May 9. The NASA Glenn High School Engineering Institute will immerse students in NASA’s work while providing essential career readiness tools to help them in future science, technology, engineering, and mathematics-focused academic and professional pursuits. Throughout the five-day institute, students will use authentic NASA mission content and work alongside Glenn’s technical experts to gain a deeper understanding of the engineering design process, develop practical engineering solutions to real-world challenges, and test prototypes to answer questions in key mission areas: Acoustic dampening – How can we reduce noise pollution from jet engines? Power management and distribution – How can we develop a smart power system for future space stations? Simulated lunar operations – Can we invent tires that don’t use air? Program Dates Selected students will participate in one of the following week-long sessions. Session 1: July 7 – 11, 2025 Session 2: July 14 – 18, 2025 Session 3: July 21 – 25, 2025 Eligibility and Application Requirements To be eligible for this program, students must: Be entering 11th or 12th grade for the 2025-2026 academic year Have a minimum 3.2 GPA, verified by their school counselor Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher Additional application requirements are outlined in the Supplemental Application.
