Food Service Survey
Our food service provider, Arbor Management, Inc., would like feedback from middle school students and their parents about its food service program. We welcome you or your child to complete this survey with your student by March 15.
5Essentials Parent Survey
Through March 29, parents and guardians are invited to complete the 5Essentials survey to help us better understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Identities and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to a parent or child. The state will provide survey results for individual schools only if a school has at least 20 percent of parents take the survey. If a parent has children attending more than one school, please complete a survey for each school. Visit the 5Essentials website to take the survey.

Free Mental Health Services for D45 Families
District 45 has launched an innovative mental health initiative to provide and improve access to quality mental health services in our community. This new free program, called CARES (Community, Advocacy, Resilience, Engagement and Support), connects families to local mental health providers based on their specific needs and will help schedule appointments. CARES makes it easy for families to find help and support without trying to do it on their own.
Treatment providers are independent licensed clinicians. Services are available at nearby clinician offices or virtually (telehealth) and are 100% confidential. District students and families may receive up to eight (8) FREE sessions of counseling services. CARES is available to uninsured or underinsured families and accepts all private and public insurance options, including PPO, HMO and Medicaid. CARES is made possible through funding from the Illinois Department of Public Health in partnership with the DuPage Regional Office of Education and Referral GPS. For more information or to access mental health services, visit the District 45 CARES page and complete the “Treatment Request” to get started.

Attendance
A friendly reminder that it is the responsibility of a parent/guardian to contact Jackson in the event his/her child will be absent from school. Please plan to report your child’s absence, prior to 9:00 a.m., by calling our attendance line at (630) 516-7368. Parents/guardians will leave a voicemail reporting their child’s absence. In the voicemail, please include the following information:
Child’s name and grade level
Date of absence
Reason for absence
Student absenteeism should be kept to the minimum; however, the School Board recognizes that some absences are unavoidable. The following are valid causes for a student's absence and will be considered “excused,” as specified in Section 26-2a of the Illinois School Code:
Illness
Observation of a religious holiday
Death in the immediate family
Family emergency
Other situations approved by the school principal
