Tambark Creek Principal Newsletter
November 2024
Hello Parents & Guardians!
As we embrace November and the changing weather, please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the conditions each day. Warm, waterproof shoes are especially important on rainy days.
Thank you for attending your child’s conferences this week; your involvement is key to their success. Tambark had a great turnout on both of our Parent/Teacher conferences days.
We’re excited to launch our school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) recognition assemblies! Each month, teachers will nominate one student who exemplifies our four B's: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Ready to Learn. Parents are contacted by their child's teacher if they are being recognized at our monthly assemblies and will be invited to the assembly. For students in grades 3rd through 5th their recognition assemblies will be held from 9:40-10:10AM and for grade K through 2 will be from 1:40-2:10. The dates will be provided by your child's teacher.
We are excited to continue recognizing our students for demonstrating our monthly Core Values. Each month, teachers nominate students who embody the value we focus on. Here’s the full list of Core Values we celebrate throughout the year:
- September: Respect
- October: Learning
- November: Equity
- December: Collaboration
- January: Passion
- February: Integrity
- March: Diversity
- April: Learning
- June: Collaboration
We are pleased to announce that Yuvaan from Mrs. Ihrig's class was recognized for September's Core Value of Respect. His teacher shared that Yuvaan consistently demonstrates respect in the classroom by listening attentively, raising his hand before speaking, and thoughtfully engaging with his classmates’ ideas. His respect extends beyond the classroom, as he is polite to staff, offers help when needed, and contributes to a positive and supportive atmosphere.
In October, Araya from Mrs. Taylor's class was honored with the Core Value of Learning. Mrs. Taylor highlighted that Araya is always engaged in lessons, shows kindness to her peers, and treats all teachers with thoughtfulness and respect.
Congratulations to both Yuvaan and Araya for their outstanding demonstration of these core values.
Please remember our smartwatch policies and procedures during school hours. Smartwatches and other devices should not be used for texting or calling family during the school day. If a student is feeling unwell, they must inform their teacher, who will send them to the nurse. Parents will be contacted by the nurse if a child needs to go home, and you’ll need to sign them out.
Also, our school day starts promptly at 9:15 AM. Please ensure your child arrives by 9:10 AM to avoid a tardy slip.
Finally, a big thank you for your support of our TCE PTSA fundraiser! It was a huge success and will greatly benefit our students and school community.
We appreciate your cooperation and support!
Warm regards,
Mrs. O'Connor-Weaver
