Edition #1 August 14, 2024
Message from Mr. Burns
Dear Salford Hills Family,
Welcome back! As your principal, I am thrilled to open our doors for an exhilarating 2024-2025 school year. We have a year full of learning adventures, growth, and community building ahead of us. Our dedicated teachers and staff are eager to continue fostering a nurturing environment where each student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
This year, we will continue to embrace our core values of being safe, respectful, and responsible learners, ensuring that Salford Hills remains a place where learning is joyful and everyone’s potential is recognized, respected, and nurtured. I encourage you to join our vibrant Home and School Association and become an active participant in our school community. Your involvement is key to your child’s success.
Let’s make this year positively impactful and full of confidence and success for our students. Here’s to a fantastic school year ahead!
Respectfully,
Todd J. Burns

Student Placements Available Friday, Aug. 16th at 4:00pm
August 16th is the day that families can view teacher placement for the new school year. At 4:00 PM, information is available in Home Access Center on the SASD website using your login credentials. Follow the link below this message. NOTE: Your login credentials will NOT work until the system goes live at 4:00 PM.
Student placement is determined and reviewed by a team of professionals including your child’s former teacher(s), school counselor, student support teacher, reading specialist, and myself. Each child’s academic ability and performance, social and emotional growth, and needs are discussed, as well as peer relationships. Through this process, we strive to create heterogeneous classes that function as cohesive groups and provide each child with an educational environment best suited to meet his or her needs. Therefore, we ask that you respect our professional judgement, and be assured that we will strive to make the most appropriate placement for your child.
In advance, I thank you for your trust in an educational system that cares about your child and families at large.
Respectfully,
Todd J. Burns
