Message from the Principal
Thank you to all who allowed your student to attend our Hoedown! Special thanks for your patience and courtesy at pick-up. We absolutely love this event each year, but pick-up is usually a challenge. Your patience and the awesome job of following the pick-up times made it much smoother than in the past. Thank you so very much!! It was a great afternoon!
I am also so thankful for the hard work of our teachers in providing daily opportunities for students, in addition to the great after-school activities that we provide throughout the year. I am also very thankful for all the parent support and for our hard working students! It was a good week and we are looking forward to another great week as we continue to work toward Ohio State Testing the week of March 31st.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Tim Holcombe

Everyone Loves Pi!
Friday, March 14th was International Pi Day. Last week we finished the 12th annual Pi day reciting contest here at Eisenhower Intermediate School. Contestants had to memorize the first 50 digits of Pi by March 6th in order to qualify for the finals. From there, the sky's the limit. We had 10 contestants participate in the finals this year and we want to thank all of those who participated.
Congratulations to our third place winner, Maddie Forgette, memorizing 144 digits. Second place winner is Kolton Zimmerman, memorizing 160 digits. And the winner of the 2025, Eisenhower Intermediate School Pi day reciting contest, is Hadassah Brinkman, memorizing a grand total of 200 digits of Pi. That’s right, she memorized 200 random numbers in a row! Truly amazing.
Dancing, Friends, and Fun Highlight the Hoedown!
On Friday, March 21st we had our annual Eisenhower Hoedown which allows students an opportunity to stay after school and participate in games, square dancing, and camaraderie! We had a great turnout this year with nearly 300 students attending! Students were treated to a games station in the cafeteria, a photo booth and snack station in the main hallway and a square dance station in the gym. The games station contained barrel racing, steer lassoing, barnyard bowling and horse shoes!
We are very thankful to the staff at Camp Michindoh who has a band that calls square dances at camp. They were willing to join us and with their leadership, square dancing was a great hit!
We are very thankful to Mrs. Madson for coordinating the event and for our Specials Team teachers for helping with setup. We are also very thankful for teacher and parent volunteers who chaperoned and helped make this event run so smoothly. The parent turn-out was excellent and helped provide a supportive and safe event. Thank you to all our parents who provided this opportunity for your children. We are thankful for Officer Shaw's guidance in facilitating a smooth pick-up. We realize that it is also the patience and going with the flow by those picking students up that make the process work for the safety of our students. Thank you!
Please stay tuned for more photos from the event in next week's Fly-er!

These events are designed to help students prepare for the upcoming state tests through engaging, hands-on activities.
Students will enjoy games, prizes, pizza, and time with friends! Best of all, both nights are completely FREE! Invitations were sent home on Friday, so be sure to check those backpacks! We are looking forward to these awesome evenings of learning and fun!

Attendance Matters!
Attendance Matters:
Attendance is crucial for student success, especially as teachers review material for upcoming state tests. When students are present, they have the opportunity to ask questions, participate in discussions, and reinforce their understanding of key concepts. Missing class means missing valuable instruction that can impact performance on important assessments. Regular attendance not only helps build good study habits, but it also ensures that students have the best chance to succeed on their state tests and beyond.
Congratulations to the following students who proved Attendance Matters through staying in the Green on their charts: Wesley Belkofer, Derek Cole, Jackie Hindall, Kenton King, Starla Layman, Aubrey Newton, Ruby Novakowski, Toby Richardson, Frank Sanabria
