September 13, 2024
We hope this week's Wildwood Weekly finds you well! We wanted to remind you of the best ways to communicate with our school staff. To ensure timely and effective communication, we kindly ask that if you need to reach out to Ms. Babyak, you do so through phone call or email. Please do not use ClassDojo! Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY IS MONDAY
We are excited to announce that our school will be celebrating International Dot Day on Monday, September 16th! Inspired by the beloved book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, this day encourages creativity, courage, and collaboration!
To make this day extra special, we invite all students to dress in polka dots—whether it's a shirt, socks, or even a fun accessory! We look forward to seeing how each student will express their creativity on this fun and meaningful day!
Thank you for your support!

Medication Reminder
Students that need to receive medication at school need to have the proper paperwork filled out. Even if your student received medication last year, a new form needs to be turned in before medication can be dropped off. Please make arrangements to drop off medication and the supporting documentation to the main office. Medication should not be sent to school along with the student for safety concerns.

The Corewell Health John Glenn Teen Clinic is open! We provide physicals, hearing and vision screenings, immunizations, sick care and asthma management. We will also have mental health services available in the near future. We are grant funded and accept all insurances, however, no patient will be turned away for inability to pay.
The clinic is located at John Glenn High School, 36105 Marquette, Westland, MI.
Family Resource Center
Wayne-Westland Community Schools has a Family Resource Center (FRC), which provides services to any student/family enrolled in our District, free of cost. Some of the services they provide are essential needs assistance, access to over 700 local resources, a Laundry Assistance Program and material items for those unable to afford them (emergency toiletries, socks/underwear, hats/gloves/scarves, etc.) They can also supply school supplies and backpacks year-round for any WWCS student. Please contact our Family Resource Center at 734-419-2709 or FRC@wwcsd.net. Our FRC also has a Digital Request for Services Form, which can be used to request assistance by filling out a simple form. Please contact the Family Resource Center directly with additional questions regarding their services.
Lunch Balance Information
The Wayne-Westland Food Service Department is proud to offer students a variety of delicious yet healthy breakfast and lunch choices. The lunch program uses an efficient point-of-sale swipe card system, significantly reducing wait times and allowing students more time to enjoy their meals.
We offer an extensive selection of additional products for students to purchase during lunch, including beverages, bagged snacks, and desserts. While the selection varies by school and grade level, students can conveniently buy snacks using cash or their student lunch accounts.
Funding the student lunch account is simple through the Meal Magic Family Portal, with detailed instructions provided below. Please note that we currently do not accept credit or debit cards. For any questions or issues regarding purchases or lunch accounts, please email foodservice@wwcsd.net or call the Food Service Department at (734) 419-2118.
