Saturday School- February 8th
Our next Saturday School session is coming up! Have your child make up an absence and turn it into a day of attendance! This 1/2 day (8:30-12:30) of enrichment led by a certificated teacher, not only helps the school recoup lost funding from absences, but also helps interdistrict students maintain their good standing for interdistrict reviews by helping increase their attendance percentage, and is fun!!!
Space is limited for our February 8th session, so sign up below today! Available for TK-8th Grade only. Please sign up for this session today!

School Board Recognition Month
School board members volunteer many hours and put forth an immeasurable amount of energy to assure that our school is providing the best education possible for the children of our community. January is School Board Recognition Month and the perfect time to acknowledge their service to our students and our community.
School board members are citizens whose decisions affect our children — what they learn, how it is presented, what kinds of facilities house their classrooms, and more. These are men and women elected to establish the policies that provide the framework for our public school. They represent you, and they take this responsibility seriously. We encourage you to take a moment this month to tell a school board member “thank you for caring about our children’s education.”
Thank you to our MIUESD Board Members: Elise Nelson, Emily Daddow, Keith Turner, Josh Wanner, and Jeff Reese.
Outgoing School Board Members
In December, the District showed appreciation to our exiting Board Members, Jill Bramhill and Jeff Moore. During their time on the Board, both were extremely dedicated, always listening to all concerns, weighing out all options, and making decisions based on the best interests of our students. They both served with integrity, resilience, and compassion. We are so thankful for their service on the MIUESD Governing Board.
Jill Bramhill, MIUESD Board Clerk Served December 2016-December 2024
Jeff Moore, MIUESD Board President Served January 2020-December 2024

CJSF Service Field Trip
In December, our 7th and 8th grade members of Marcum’s California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF) went on a service field trip! We volunteered with the SoYouCan Non Profit Organization to help as they sorted and wrapped donations for families throughout Yuba and Sutter Communities. We are so proud of these Wildcats!
Teacher Collaboration Update
In January, teachers will review pre-assessment data from NextGen Math to determine intervention focus groups for Cycle 3 of intervention time. Please be on the lookout in student backpacks for Intervention Communication Forms which will indicate which group your student will be participating in for this time period! Teachers will also work to review data from the winter administration of MAP Reading and Math tests that take place this month, prepare progress reports for students, and continue their development of signature writing assignments for this trimester!
