Students and Families,

Welcome back to a new school year at Brummitt Elementary School! We are thrilled to see our students return to the vibrant halls of our school on Wednesday, August 14th. Our dedicated staff has been working hard to prepare for an exciting and productive year ahead. To keep you informed and engaged, we will be sending out a weekly newsletter every Friday at 5:00 P.M. via email. These newsletters will include important updates, events, and information relevant to your student's education and school experience. We look forward to a fantastic year together!

We're thrilled to introduce our "A+ Attendance Award," a fun and motivating way to celebrate our students who show outstanding attendance! Each Monday, we'll randomly draw five students who have been present every day during the prior week to receive this special recognition. Winners will have their photo featured in our newsletter and on our attendance bulletin board, which will be proudly displayed for the entire year. Plus, each winner will receive an "A+ Attendance Winner" locker magnet! We encourage all students to attend school every day but remind them to stay home if they're feeling unwell to keep everyone healthy. Let’s do our best to stay healthy, be in school, and making every day count!

*Please follow the following guidelines to ensure an efficient car line, and help our students get to class and breakfast on time!

Bus Drop Off Area (Yellow):

• This area will be for BUS TRAFFIC ONLY from 7:10 - 7:30.
• Students will enter the building and proceed to their classroom or breakfast.

• ALL students being dropped off in the morning must be dropped off in the east parking lot. ONLY buses may pull in front of the school.
• Vehicles must enter the parking lot from the N Brummitt Road Entrance.
• Vehicles must pull forward to the front of the "vehicle drop off area" or to the rear end of the vehicle in front of them.
• Students may exit the vehicle and enter the building between 7:10 - 7:30. Classes will start promptly at 7:30, so please drop student off with enough time to get to their classes and to eat breakfast (if needed).
• Your student should have their seatbelt off, backpack on, and goodbye done when the vehicle stops at the sidewalk for your student to exit the vehicle.
• Let your child exit the vehicle on the sidewalk side NOT the parking lot side. A teacher supervises the east doors. DO NOT get out of your vehicle to open the door and watch your child walk into the building.
• Follow the directional arrows around the parking lot and exit from Brummitt Road as well.

Bus Drop Off Area (Yellow):

• Students will be dismissed to their buses at 2:15.
• Buses will leave the parking lot when all students have boarded safely (approximately 10 minutes).

Vehicle Parking Area (Red):

• Parents/guardians will enter the parking area from N. Brummitt Road.
  
• Parents/guardians may park in one of the designated "vehicle parking areas."
• After vehicles are parked, parents/guardians are asked to follow the directions below.

Student Pick Up Area (Blue):

• Students will be dismissed to the "student pick up area" (gym), at 2:15.
• Parents/guardians will walk to the doors at entrance 2 and wait for them to be opened. Once opened you will walk down the hall and enter the gym doors.
• Once you enter the gym a supervisor will call your student at which time you will sign them out and exit through the brown doors in the gym.
• After loading your vehicle, please exit via N Brummitt Road.

Brummitt's Back to School Open House has been scheduled! Families of our K- 4 students may use this opportunity to visit your student's classroom, learn important information about the upcoming school year, and meet your student’s teacher.
