Confident Conversations: Guiding Kids Through Puberty and Adolescence
ParentEd Talk with Julie Metzger, founder of Great Conversations, and Peter Metzger, pediatrician
Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025
7–8 p.m. PT
Julie Metzger, RN, MN is a pediatric nurse with over 40 years of experience and founder of Great Conversations puberty classes for families. Julie’s passion for supporting adolescents and her extensive work in adolescent health, nursing education and community outreach led her to seek new options for parents and tweens navigating puberty together. Founder of the critically acclaimed, nationally renowned class "For Girls Only: A Heart to Heart Talk on Growing Up," her no-nonsense, honest, heartfelt approach to real talk with tweens has become a rite of passage for preteen girls across the Pacific Northwest and San Francisco Bay Areas.
Peter Metzger, M.D., FAAP is a pediatrician and chief medical officer at Great Conversations, where he merges his medical expertise with humor and approachable language to talk about puberty, gender and sexuality. His work at HealthPoint in Renton focuses on providing holistic care to underserved, historically excluded communities, while also teaching families how to foster confident, thoughtful decision-making in their children.
