News from the Youth Services Coordinator
The Andover Leos
Leo Club Projects - Staff Appreciation
The Leos have been hard at work, ensuring that the staff at Andover High School feel appreciated! Through the generous donations of community members, the Leos helped assemble treat bags for all staff members. They also wrote personal thank-you notes to staff members who have made a significant impact on their lives.
The Leos Win Gold at Multiplying Good’s Spring Competition
Each year, the Leo Club focuses on an impact project and coordinates service projects around that theme. This year, the Leos chose to focus on "Caring for our Community," with a specific emphasis on addressing the epidemic of isolation and loneliness plaguing our country. On Thursday, May 2nd, Leo leaders attended Multiplying Good's annual spring competition. At this competition, students from the metro area presented the service projects they've completed throughout the school year. In front of a panel of judges, the Leos shared the impact of the service work they completed this school year, and they won the title of Gold Leadership team. Congratulations Andover Leos!
DROP in for Service!
In an effort to bring the spirit of service to Andover High School, Youth Service will be hosting a variety of fun and meaningful service projects during select late start Mondays. Service projects will take place right here at school; participating students will receive 1 service hour per session. Click here for details on third trimester dates, times, and room location. On Monday, May 6th students picked up garbage that accumulated over the winter months. The final Drop in for Service of the school year will be held on Monday, May 20th.

Is your student looking for volunteer hours?
Join the Youth Service Google Classroom to access a list of upcoming volunteer opportunities in our community. For any inquiries or to request a transcript, feel free to contact Tammy Peterson at tammy.peterson@ahschools.us.
Does your student plan on volunteering over the summer? Here is a list of upcoming summer opportunities (updated on an ongoing basis). Be sure to record all hours completed over the summer via the online Verification of Hours form. This will help to keep a formal record for scholarships, awards, and college applications.
