St. Petronille Catholic School
A Note from Mr. Schmidt
Dear St. Petronille Families,
We had a great week this week and are gearing up for Catholic Schools Week coming up!
Our 8th grade students have been working hard to plan a special Catholic Schools Week and have prepared a letter linked below to inform the community about all of their great plans!
We have our Open House for new families after the 11:30 AM mass on Sunday, January 26th. Please encourage any interested families you know to come on the 26th. Please also support us that weekend by coming to mass at St. Petronille! Any student who attends any St. Petronille on Saturday, January 25th or Sunday, January 26th while wearing their school uniform will get an out-of-uniform day on Monday, February 3rd!
As we wrap up our registration process for next school year, please begin considering whether your family will apply for tuition assistance. There are two avenues through which families can do so:
- The diocesan Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) offers scholarships to families with demonstrated financial need enrolled in Diocese of Joliet Catholic schools.
- The St. Petronille Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund is an owned and operated by St. Petronille that offers tuition assistance money to families each year. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and decisions on award amounts are made in the spring. . Families who choose to apply for funding through our endowment should also apply for a CEF scholarship.
The application for financial assistance for the 2025-26 school year can be found by clicking the button below this letter.
Please also keep in mind that our 4th-8th grade teachers have updated their gradebooks for our Mid-Trimester Progress Update so that you can check out your child(ren)'s progress.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions, particularly regarding Catholic Schools Week and tuition assistance, and if there is any way I can better serve your family.
God bless,
Eric Schmidt
Principal
Open Applications for New Students through February 7!
Lights, Camera, Auction!
Auction FAQ’s
What is it? The auction is the single largest fundraiser for the school. The funds raised bridge the gap in the operating budget and directly benefit all students.
Who will attend? School parents, alumni, and friends in our community are invited to share an evening of fun while bidding on exciting items.
When is it? Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 8, 2025. Arrive promptly at 6:00 p.m. to walk the red carpet at Abbington Distinctive Banquets. When you check-in you’ll receive your table number and auction paddle. Don’t be late, the bar will be open, but the silent auction will close at 7:30 p.m.
How do I register? Invitations have been mailed, and online registration is open. Your admission includes an open bar, appetizers, dinner, and entertainment. Register before 2/14 to take advantage of the early-bird ticket price!
What is the attire? We suggest heading to “wardrobe” for your favorite cocktail attire. Wear your dancing shoes and your best smile for the photo booth.
What can I expect? We’ve cued up the live and silent auctions, paddle raise, wine pull, raffles, and more! Get ready to spend the night celebrating while supporting St. Pets students and teachers!
Still have questions? Email one of the auction chairs, Michelle Jadin, Stacey Lewis, or Shannon Schmidt at auction@stpetschool.org.
