Happy Summer Break Charger Families!
Happy evening before the start of another school year! Whether you've been with us for several years, or this is your first year at Chisholm, we are excited to welcome you back for another school year!
Our doors open at 8:20 in the morning, which is when we start welcoming students into the building. Please take your first day pictures before you get inside the building since parents won't be allowed to enter into the building. We will have staff on hand to make sure the students get to their assigned classroom or location.
Please have your students wear the lanyard that should have been handed out during Meet the Teacher. These are color coded by grade level and provide a easy visual for us to know their grade level and teacher. We will send these home in the evening, so if possible, try to have your students wear them the first couple of days.
If you are running late in the morning, please be sure to walk into the office and check your students in on the kiosk in our vestibule. In the event, you'll need to check your child out before the of the day, you will scan your driver's license on the kiosks. The program will walk you through steps to ensure your child is released to an approved adult.
We will spend the first couple of days adjusting the students back into a schedule of being in school, going over procedures as defined by their grade level for lunch, specials, etc. I anticipate the students will be tired the first couple of days (I know the staff will be). Slowly and surely, they will become familiar with our building and their school day.
At the end of the day, we ask that early checkouts happen before 3:00. If your student is a 33rd Street Walker, they should live in Old Farm or Thornbrook. If your student is a Spring Hill Walker, they should live in the Springhill Neighborhood or the subsequent neighborhoods that are too close to receive bus transportation. Students that ride a bus will load from the gym once their bus arrives at school. If you need specifics on bus numbers and times please click this link, which will ask you to fill out your address.
Car Riders will need to use the Red Hangtag, which was given out at Meet the Teacher. (If you were unable to attend Meet the Teacher, our office is open 8-3:30 on Wednesday August 14.) Please be sure to make sure this tag is visible to the person out front entering the number by our marquee. Once their number has been entered, students will come out of the building by the first grade hallway and be positioned by one of the concrete bollards numbered 1-6 (please be sure to stay out far enough aways from the bollards so your car door doesn't get dinged). If you don't have your hangtag, you will need to pull in and check your student out from the office. There is a button below that goes through the Car Rider procedures.
Please be patient with us the first several days and everyone becomes more familiar with the procedure especially during dismissal times. Once everyone becomes more familiar with the process we are able to wrap up dismissal in a acceptable amount of time.

Here is a link to a map of our building outlining where your child's classroom is located. Be sure to swing by the cafeteria for information from our PTO along with putting funds on your child's lunch account.
Student Technology Protection Plan
If you would like to purchase the Student Technology Protection Plan, STTP, to protect against damage to student computer devices. Clicking on the link below will explain how this process works. You can also pay for this in the office by bringing cash or checks. The elementary price for STPP has been reduced to $10 per device for this school year.
