🎭 Gina Curry is our High School Artist of the Week 🎉
Gina is a joy to have in class. Hardworking, positive, and capable are just a few words to describe her. She has improved every semester to become one of our top ceramics students. Her positive attitude, willingness to try new things, and successful artwork make her an excellent example for others to follow. - Ryan Widel, Nixa High School art teacher
"I never really pegged myself as the "creative type," but we all have thoughts; it is just what we do with them. Ceramics has given me so much room to fail, which allows for so much room to grow. Through much trial and error, I have learned that my intentionality and craftsmanship flourish when I attach meaning and purpose to a piece. Much of my work is now intended to glorify the Lord and act as a vessel to share the good news, which I find adds so much joy to the process." - Gina Curry

🎵 Eli Youngblood is our Junior High Artist of the Week! 👩🎨
Eli Youngblood is our Junior High Artist of the Week, proudly sponsored by Lucid TLC Arts!
"I am so glad to have Eli in the band! He is an excellent musician and always ready to perform for the class. It is apparent that he truly loves playing the trombone, and his passion for music is contagious. Eli is kind and encouraging and helps create a fun environment for others. He is a joy to have in class!" - Michael Bradford Nixa Bands assistant director
"What I like about band is that I get to have freedom with my music. If I sound terrible, I can see which part I'm bad at and improve on it. I can choose to do hard things if I want. The band is a great experience, as you can play music as much as you like. I recommend you be in band if you want a great time." - Eli Youngblood

Inman Intermediate
Kaitlyn Byrd's science class students at Inman Intermediate participated in a rock lab this week. They tore multi-colored airheads into pieces to show different sediments. They then combined the sediments to create a sedimentary rock, applied heat and pressure to make a metamorphic rock, and microwaved a rock to create an igneous rock.
Rock on, scientists!

Kindergarten students at JTSD found a new way to use an everyday object to make recess more exciting. Teacher Mary Floyd was the designated sled pusher as students waited their turn to try out the "sled." Innovation at its finest!
