News From Mrs. Lemus' Class
February 7, 2016
Greetings!
This has been a great week in fourth grade! Here's where we've been and where we are headed this week.
Math: Last week we worked with using protractors to tell the degree of angles. This week we are going to be learning about symmetry, area, and perimeter. Please help your child by reviewing homework items.
Reading: Last week we learned about text features and continued with our persuasive writing unit. This week we will continue persuasive writing and text features but we will also weave in procedures, ideas, and concepts. Part of this week's reading homework is to review first and third person point of view.
Social Studies: We are learning about the various Native American tribes in North Carolina. Last week we created a flip book of the different regions and the tribes who lived in those regions. This week we will start learning about the Cherokee Indians who are from our region of NC.
I cannot thank you enough for helping your child to keep up with their homework and for signing their behavior sheets on a daily basis. It makes such a big difference to be held accountable at home and school.
Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lemus

Classroom Needs
If your child does not have headphones for their classroom device please send some with your child. I know Walmart has them for $5.00 and up!
We need snacks! Thank you to the parents who have donated already. Good snacks for our class would be : a box of cereal, a box of crackers, goldfish, pretzels.....NO cookies please! I also want to discourage buying individually wrapped snacks. I don't mind handing out handfuls of cereal and things like that. Individually wrapped snacks go very fast and they are more expensive! Thank you.
