Thank you for showing our staff so much kindness for Staff Appreciation Week! We are grateful to be able to serve the Wildcat community and felt the love from our students and families last week.
Our wonderful student Hope Squad committee, with Ms. Yearing's guidance, has planned Hope Week activities as part of Mental Health Awareness Week this week. The flyer of activities is below and we encourage all to participate. Thank you to our Hope Squad members and Ms. Yearing for planning Hope Week!

Community Event: Help Paint our New Sensory Pathway
We are fortunate to have a local high school Girl Scout who is working on a service project to benefit our school. She has designed and laid the foundation for a large sensory pathway on our blacktop. She has organized a community event to help paint the designs on the pathway and is inviting all students, staff, and families to participate. If your family would like to be part of this school event, mark your calendars with the details below.
When: Tuesday, May 21, from 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm
Where: The blacktop at the back of school
What to wear: please wear clothes/shoes you are ok with getting paint on
What to bring: You do not need to bring anything. You may bring water and snacks for you and your family if you choose.
RE-OPENING CONTINUING REGISTRATION
Continuing Registration for the 2024-2025 school year will re-open on Monday, May 20 at 8:00 am
We MUST receive a completed digital packet for all returning students. This will allow for proper placement of your student for the new school year. This annual digital process will allow a family to complete one single “family” packet instead of completing one packet per student. Packets can be completed using any computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection.
Continuing Registration Steps:
Login and review or update the digital registration packet online at the ParentVue portal: https://sis.powayusd.com/packet.
Review and complete the required forms located at the conclusion of the process. A packet is not considered final until this step is completed.
Please note: MEDICATION FORMS or ADDITIONAL SIGNED SITE SPECIFIC FORMS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED UNTIL SCHOOL BEGINS IN AUGUST FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR.

Library News
We have just two weeks left before we close our library to begin preparing for the 2024-25 school year. Please note that ALL library books are due back by Friday, May 17. Books not returned by the 17th will be marked as lost and fines will be assessed. Please be sure to check your email inbox for weekly notices regarding overdue/lost books. Unpaid fines on students' library accounts do carry over to next year (even if your student is moving on to middle school) and could affect your student's ability to check out books in the fall.
For our 5th grade friends, please stay tuned for information regarding Chromebook and charger collection. All 5th graders will be turning in their devices near the end of the school year (date TBD) and will receive brand new Chromebooks at the start of 6th grade.

Restaurant Fundraiser: Friday, May 17th at Senor Burro
Our next restaurant fundraiser to benefit 5th grade boosters is this Friday, May 17th at Senor Burro. The restaurant is located at 15817 Bernardo Center Drive, Suite 104, San Diego, 92127. Senor Burro is giving 20% of all proceeds directly back to Pomerado Elementary School. Thank you so much to a Wildcat family-owned business for the support!

We're planning a fun-filled day for your little artists to showcase their creativity at our Chalk Art Day on May 23rd. Look for more information coming home next week.
