The Buzz
Spring Term - 23rd January 2025

Message from the Executive Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers,
I am pleased to see the first signs of Spring beginning to appear with Daffodils in the gardens I pass on my walk between the two schools. However, the weather is still very cold so please ensure your child comes equipped for the cold.
Last week we were pleased to host a coffee morning for the parents who were able to meet Jess, our Mental Health Support Worker. Jess works across both schools with children and families and is a real source of information and support. The session focused on providing strategies for parents to manage their child's emotions. Feedback from the parents who attended was very positive.
Year 4 pupils visited the Buddhist temple in Wimbledon this week. It's visually stunning and has a feeling of calm. The monks spoke to the children about their beliefs. I have been many times and it never fails to leave an impression.
Over the last few months HPP has been quietly working to develop a new website. We are now in the final stages and will be launching it this term. The new website will have a fresher feel and will have greater emphasis on the HPP and the joint working. I will of course update you when we have a launch date.
Finally, next Friday is the HPPA disco - please make sure you have purchased your tickets and I know the children will have a wonderful time.
Enjoy the weekend once it arrives.

Yr3 and Yr6 - Author Visit - Jamie Hammond
On the 4th March, year 3 and 6 will be having an author come in to present to them all about his new book, grumpfort.
Mo, the worst monster hunter ever, in this hilarious and highly illustrated adventure. Mo never wanted to be a Warden - protecting the village of Bogfoss from the terrifying monsters in the woods is way too scary. But when he's beaten up by a goblin on his first patrol, he knows he has to prove himself.
So he sets out into the forbidden woods to catch himself a monster and make himself a hero. Instead he stumbles into GRUMPFORT, a secret monster fortress with a very big problem. The fearsome Grumpsnatcher is kidnapping the other monsters - and suddenly Mo's on a monster-hunt with a troll, a gnome and a fire-breathing snotwoggle to stop it!
If you would like to purchase a copy of Jamie's book, you can do so on Arbor. Jamie will be signing books on the day.

Hampton Library
During the spring term, lots of classes will be heading to Hampton library. To be able to take home books during this trip, children will need to have a library card. If your child does not have a library card, please fill in the form and hand to your class teacher. The card can then be set up at the library during the trip.
