Kimberly High School September 2024
Family Newsletter
September 2024
From the Principal
Hello Kimberly High School families,
These first few weeks of school have allowed us to focus on building relationships while emphasizing the opportunities we have to create individualized, clear and academically rigorous experiences for our students. As we shared in our class meetings, every day is a chance to be better, and it has been rewarding to watch our students take risks and push themselves.
As we close out the first month and head into October I am excited for what lies ahead. Homecoming Week 2024 kicks off October 7th. There is no better way to show off our school spirit than with dress up days, powderpuff, a parade, pep rally, half time shows, athletic competitions, our Homecoming dance, and the energy that comes with our students and community coming together for these events. This year’s parade will also include a float with members of the KHS Class of 1954- 70 years out of high school! We are excited to celebrate with them and hope to see many of you there.
There is certainly a lot of excitement during Homecoming Week, and I encourage everyone to use this as an opportunity to talk with your student(s) about safety and making positive choices. We continue to put an emphasis on ensuring KHS is a safe place for all students, and a huge piece of that is everyone doing their part to keep our school free of drugs and alcohol. Thank you to the hundreds of students and families who have already signed the PromiseMaker pledge; your support and commitment make a difference!
Finally, please mark your calendars for October 16th, our Parent Teacher conference night. We will once again have sessions for parents to learn more about our KHS programs/offerings, clubs and activities, and post secondary options for students in addition to conferencing with teachers. Also, we invite you to tour the new construction lab addition that was built by our students. We are excited to showcase our state of the art Technology and Education facilities and hope you can join us on the 16th. The details for the community open house event are included below.
Wishing you all a wonderful October and I look forward to seeing many of you in the weeks ahead!
With great Papermaker Pride,
Mrs. DePeau
