Kia ora e te whānau,
Kia ora koutou,
Welcome to Term 4! As always, Term 4 is an exciting and busy time filled with learning, growth, and fun activities. With the warmer weather approaching, it's important to remind all students to wear their navy blue bucket hats and apply sunscreen before coming to school each day. Let's ensure everyone stays sun-safe!
This term, we place a strong emphasis on Education Outside the Classroom (E.O.T.C.), with staff and students busily preparing for upcoming camps and trips. I’d like to thank the volunteers who have kindly offered their time to assist with camps. While camp volunteer roles are finalised, there will be plenty of other opportunities for parents and caregivers to accompany students on school trips throughout the term. These trips are a highlight for our tamariki, and we simply couldn’t make them happen without your support, so please keep an eye out for any notices.
Athletics Days
We’re also looking forward to our school athletics days in Week 4. This is always a fun and active event where we get to challenge ourselves and enjoy the thrill of competition with our peers. I encourage parents and caregivers to come along and support our students as they strive for their personal bests.
School App
I’d also like to remind all parents and caregivers to ensure they are signed up for our School App. This is especially important as we use the app to send out updates for school events and E.O.T.C. trips, including any changes to times or details. Having the app ensures you’ll receive any last-minute notifications promptly, helping to keep everything running smoothly for both students and staff. If you haven’t downloaded the app yet, please do so as soon as possible. If you need any assistance with setting it up, feel free to contact the school office.
Finally, I want to wish everyone a safe and relaxing long weekend for Labour Day. Enjoy the break, and I look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready to embrace the rest of the term.
Ngā mihi nui,
Richard George
Principal

Parnell District School
Parnell Baths, Tuesday 17 December
We are seeking parent volunteers to accompany our students to the Parnell Baths for an end-of-year day of fun! Each teaching team will visit the pools at a different time, and we require a ratio of 1 adult to 4 children to ensure the safety of all students. As such, we need a significant number of volunteers to make this trip possible. If we do not have enough parent volunteers, we cannot run this event.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
Years 0-3: 9:30am to 10:45am
Years 4-6:10:30am to 12:30pm
Years 7-8: 12:15pm to 2:15pm
If you are available to help with any of these sessions, please complete the online form by click on the "Parnell Baths - Volunteer Form" below as soon as possible. Your support is essential in making this day a success for our tamariki!

Reminders
Before School
Children should not be on school grounds unaccompanied by an adult before 8:30am. There is no active supervision at this time as staff are preparing for the day and often hold meetings before school.
After School
All children must leave the school grounds by 3:15pm. A bell rings to remind children of the time. Children may go home, change out of their school uniform and return to play but they will be unsupervised.
After School - Senior Playground and Turf
From 3:15pm, our after-school care programme C4 uses the Senior Playground and turf area. We ask that no other children use these areas after this time on school days so that the staff at C4 can supervise the children in their care safely.
Uniform
Reminder: Term 4 is a "Summer" term, which means children must always wear a hat outside. Hats must be:
- navy blue
- bucket-style (a brim all the way around)
Hats are available at the school office NOW
Second-hand: $5
New: $15
