Our Weekly Learning Focus
For the rest of term, our focus will be: READY TO LEARN. We need to encourage pupils to be punctual, smart, polite and attentive learners. Staff will be rewarding pupils for doing the right thing, and follow up where they need reminders. Please discuss the importance of being punctual and ready to learn with your child.

Family Hubs Network Survey - From London Borough of Newham
Dear Parent/Carers,
Children and Young People's Services are busy developing new Family Hubs sites which will act as a ‘One Stop Shop’, making it easier for families to get the help and support that they need as soon as possible. Services will be available for parents-to-be, babies, children and young people right up to 18 (and up to 25 years of age where the young person has additional needs). Some of the services that will be available are breastfeeding support, parenting programmes, activities for children, family support, youth activities, SEND support and much, much more.
To help us to create services that you would like to see, please can you take a couple of minutes to complete this short survey. This information will be used to help us plan effectively and meet local needs.

Human Rights Day
Last week we marked the upcoming Human Rights Day with a series of assemblies about Human Rights. This culminated in a Human Rights Fundraising Day which included a trainers day and a lunch time cake sale that raised almost £800- thank you to parents for their support with this. Most of this money will be donated to the Save the Children Gaza Appeal, with a small amount also being donated to the work Save the Children are doing with the Rohingya community in Myanmar/Bangladesh and in Congo.

Lister's Foodbank
At Lister Community School we are committed to looking out for our students and their families and we know that this time may be challenging for members of our school community.
As part of our support we will continue to host Lister's Foodbank and appreciate donations from parents and carers. We welcome tinned foods, rice, flour and other items which are packaged. We also welcome donations of any unused/unopened toiletries such as toothpaste/toothbrushes/ shower gel/shampoo.
We ask that you check that donated items are not close to, or have passed, their expiry date.
We cannot take perishable food such as fresh fruit/vegetables.
All items can be dropped at the main reception.
Our next Foodbank will be held on Friday 15th December from 3.30 p.m. - 4 p.m. There will be ready-made parcels for students and parents to collect, as well as extra items available. Please visit the Main Reception at this time if you wish to use the Foodbank.
