SPIRIT Week was a hit! We loved seeing the students show their spirit all week! Students looked great for pictures and even better on Halloween! Students who missed picture day will have an opportunity for fall retakes on Friday, November 22nd. Many families asked about sibling pictures; unless these were pre-paid, sibling pictures were not taken. Sibling pictures will be scheduled in the spring.

Thank you to the PTO and all the families who participated in Trunk or Treat, including those who decorated trunks, brought treats, provided supplies, and helped make the day special!

Ms. Russell has been working hard to keep the school website updated. Pictures, important dates, and other pertinent information will be regularly uploaded to the site. Please visit our school’s website to check out these highlights and celebrate our students’ achievements with us!

As the winter and holiday season approaches, we understand students may miss school due to illness or travel. Please remember that the best way to communicate absences or changes to after-school plans is to call the front office directly. If you only communicate with the teacher, some steps in the process may be missed.

The football team lost to Mae Jemison 7 to 14 on Wednesday. It was a tough battle but they are ready for the next one! STEAM will host their final game of the season at home on Friday November 8th!

Flag football practice will be on Monday and Thursday this week.

If a student wants to attend the game they must get picked up and then brought to the game by an adult. They may not stay after school.

STEAM Academy will host a book fair at school from November 18th to November 27th. Parents can set up eWallets to allow family and friends to add money to their student’s account, so they can purchase books during the fair.

Please click eWallets to set up an account and start adding funds.

Our school goal is to have 200 books purchased! Up to 40% of the money raised goes back to the school to purchase new books for the library. The students have been creating a wishlist for Ms. Russell to select new books.

For any book purchases made online (not including money added to eWallets), the school will receive 25% of those funds. Let’s reach our goal of 200 books!

Many of you have really embraced My Reading Academy. This past week the pre-k to 2 students met their 10,000 minute mark and received cookies. Students that completed 100 minutes of My Reading Academy received a special cupcake treat. The next prize is at 15,000 minutes. I would love to see more student earn a bonus treat.

Use the bar at the bottom the My Reading Academy to track your student's progress. Once it filled up they have met their weekly goal!

A letter should have gone with with male students in grades 2nd through 5th. If you are interested in your child participating in S.W.A.G.G. Mentoring please fill out and return the form to your child's teacher by Wednesday.

Choir will be hosting auditions for parts in the Winter Wonderland performance. If you would like for your child to participate in auditions please sign and return the form on Monday. Auditions will take place on Monday afterschool. Students must be picked up at 4:00 pm. If students are in the after school program they will return to after school after their audition.

Auditions are for 3rd to 5th grade only.

Volleyball for students in 3rd,4th, and 5th grade will begin soon. More information will come out shortly.

In an effort to improvement student engagement in activities, please fill out the survey below. You will need to fill one out for each student. There will be no pre-k enrichments

STEAM shirts have arrived! If you have not paid please send money in with your student this week. Shirts will go home with students this week if payment has been received. If you did not order this year's shirts, we may have additional shirts left over. Please email PTO or stop at the main office.
