Important Academic Calendar Updates
Attention, Frontier Family! Due to recent snow days, adjustments have been made to the 2024-2025 academic calendar. Please review the updated schedule and mark your calendars:
📅 Updated School Days:
✔ Friday, February 28, 2025 – Now a regular school day (Parent-Teacher Conferences will NOT be held).
✔ Friday, April 18, 2025 – Changed from a Spring Holiday to a student attendance day.
✔ Friday, May 23, 2025 – Now a student attendance day and the last day of school (was previously a Professional Development Day).

Frontier Schools Lottery Event: Excitement, Hope, and New Beginnings
On February 10th, Frontier Schools welcomed potential families for our annual Lottery Event, marking an important step in their educational journey. As families gathered, we provided a warm breakfast to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all attendees.

Frontier School of Excellence Achieves Highest Growth Score in Missouri!
We are thrilled to announce that Frontier School of Excellence (Frontier Schools) has been recognized by the PRiME Center Growth Awards for achieving the highest growth score in the state!
With an outstanding growth score of 98.5 and a proficiency rate of 32.9%, our students and educators have demonstrated incredible dedication and achievement. This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our teachers, staff, and students in striving for academic excellence.

FSI Middle Shines at State Championship, Tech Tigers Advance to Worlds
On February 22-23, our FSI Middle Robotics teams had an incredible weekend at the VEX IQ State Championship in Reeds Spring! Competing in over 100 matches, our students showcased their skill, resilience, and teamwork—overcoming challenges like malfunctioning robots and last-minute obstacles.
Champions & Awards:
🏆 Team 243A (Cemal, James, Rico, Omar) – Crowned Missouri VEX IQ Elementary Champion with a thrilling final rematch score of 108! They also earned the Design Award and secured a spot at the World Championship in Dallas on May 12-14.
🥇 Team 243D (Ipek, Senanur, Nurdide, Nihal, Selmanur) – Led early in the finals with a score of 69 and won the Energy Award.
🔥 Team 243B (Asuman, Derreck, Terryon, Genesis) – Finished 6th in the state and competed fiercely in the finals.
⚡ Team 243E (Nergis, Harry, Sophia, Bianka) – Placed 8th in Missouri and took 4th in the MS finals.
💡 Team 243F (Aris, Mahir, Mesut, Max) – Previous state champions and one of the youngest teams, finishing 4th in the ES finals.
🎯 Team 243C (Meryem, Umsun, Rabia, Eqlas) – Battled through challenges to secure 15th place in the state.
A huge thank you to our amazing coaches Ms. Breslin, Mrs. Basdas, and Mrs. Demircan for their dedication and leadership!
With high rankings across the board, we’re still anticipating more invitations to the World Championship! Stay tuned, and keep sending positive vibes for our teams to reach new heights! 🚀🎉
FSI Middle Robotics Teams Excel at VEX IQ Tournament!
On February 1-2, our students competed in the VEX IQ tournament in Monett, and we’re thrilled to share their success! Two more teams earned the Teamwork Championship Award, securing their spot in the State Championship.
We now have four teams qualified, with two more still in contention based on strong state rankings—send them your best wishes!

Black History Month Assembly at FSE
On February 26th, Frontier School of Excellence hosted a Black History Month Assembly in the gym, featuring an engaging presentation by STUCO and a powerful message from motivational speaker Dr. Ryan Harvey.
Dr. Harvey spoke about perseverance and resilience, reminding students that no matter the challenges they face, they should never lose hope. His words left a lasting impact, inspiring everyone to keep striving for success.

FSHS Students Gain Valuable Experience at Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day
On Friday, February 21, 2025, FSHS students had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Annual Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED), hosted by the Society of Women Engineers. This event is designed to inspire high school girls with a passion for STEM by pairing them with professional mentors in the engineering field.
Throughout the day, students engaged in hands-on activities, learned about career paths in engineering, and connected with industry professionals who shared their experiences and insights. It was a rewarding experience that empowered our students to envision their future in STEM.
Thank you to the Society of Women Engineers and our dedicated mentors for making this event such a success!
FSI Middle 8th Graders Visit FSHS to Discover High School Pathways
On February 14th, FSHS had the pleasure of welcoming 8th-grade students from FSI Middle to their school for an exciting and informative visit. This event gave students a firsthand look at the diverse pathways and programs available to them as they prepare for high school.
During their visit, current FSHS students took the lead, presenting detailed insights into each pathway and sharing their own experiences. These peer-led presentations helped the 8th graders better understand the opportunities awaiting them in high school.
Following the presentations, students toured the school, exploring classrooms, labs, and key program areas. This immersive experience allowed them to envision themselves as future high school students and gain a clearer sense of their options.
The goal of this visit was to empower our incoming freshmen with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their academic journey. We look forward to seeing these students next year as they embark on their chosen paths!
FSHS Robotics Teams Shine at Competition!
Exciting news from the February 8 competition! Out of 34 teams, two of our FSHS teams placed 2nd and 3rd in the qualification matches, earning all three teams a spot in the quarterfinals.
For the first time ever, one of our teams advanced to the semifinals—a huge achievement for our students! While we narrowly missed the finals, placing 3rd overall, it was a proud and inspiring moment.
Our students showed incredible skill, determination, and confidence, proving they’re ready to reach even greater heights in the future.

FSHS Robotoholics Shine at Kansas City East League Tournament!
Frontier STEM High School’s FTC robotics team, #25772 "Robotoholics," gave their all at the Kansas City East League Tournament on February 1 in Belton, MO. After six intense matches, they finished 12th in the league, just shy of advancing to the next round. Though they missed the cut, their hard work, teamwork, and determination were truly commendable!
But the journey isn’t over! Up next is the TSA Robotics Competition, where the team will refine their robot and take on a new challenge. With their skills and dedication, we know they’ll make an impact!

Falcon Basketball Players Earn Prestigious All-Conference Honors
We are thrilled to share some exciting news about our Falcon basketball team! Three of our outstanding players have been selected to the Great Plains Athletic All-Conference Teams, an incredible achievement that reflects their dedication, skill, and hard work throughout the season.
This prestigious recognition comes from a vote by Athletic Directors and Coaches across the entire conference, which consists of over 100 players. To have three Falcons earn a spot on these teams is a remarkable accomplishment. Even more impressively, under Coach Dee’s leadership, this marks the first time in program history that two players have made the 1st Team All-Conference list in the same year!

Frontier School of Excellence Soars to Success in Aerial Drone Competition!
We are thrilled to share some amazing news about our Frontier School of Excellence drone team! On February 8th, our talented students competed in the REC Foundation’s Aerial Drone Competition, showcasing their hard work, technical skills, and teamwork.
Our team, 6343A, delivered an outstanding performance, earning top rankings across multiple categories:
🚀 Autonomous Flight – 2nd Best Score
🎮 Piloting Skills – 3rd Best Score
🏆 Overall Skills – 2nd Place
🤝 Teamwork Competition – Reached the Quarterfinals, Finishing 5th Place
But the biggest news of all? We received an official email from the REC Foundation, confirming that Team 6343A has qualified for the finals in May! 🎉

Valentine's Day Fun at FSI Elementary!
On February 14th, FSI Elementary students celebrated Valentine’s Day with fun-filled classroom parties! The kids enjoyed delicious treats, exciting games, and lots of smiles as they shared the holiday with friends.
It was a day full of joy, laughter, and sweet memories for everyone! ❤️🎉

Frontier School of Excellence, Frontier STEM High School and FSI Middle School participate in several college visits throughout the year. During their visits, students learn about the academic programs offered, campus activities, the admissions process, financial aid, and how to apply for scholarships.

There are many opportunities for students to get involved in after school clubs, such as: Advanced Research Club, Gateway Readers' Club, Girls on the Run Club, Health Occupations Students of America Club, Writer's Workshop Club, Math Club, Fishing Club, Cooking Club, I.T. Club, Kindness Club, Art & Craft Club, Video Game Design Club, Chess Club, Fitness Club, Environmental Club, etc.

Home Visits
Teachers and school staff have visited 703 students in 388 homes since the start of the 2024-25 school year. Home visits are paramount in bridging cultural gaps that might exist. These visits also provide opportunities for staff to understand their students better by visiting them in their home environments.

Inclement Weather Procedure
During inclement weather, Frontier Schools will implement a school closing policy to ensure the safety of our students.
Students may be released early or classes may be canceled entirely due to inclement weather. Please be familiar with the following information sources in the event of school cancellations, early releases or late starts.
Channels of Communication:
1. School Website:
Please check your school's website for information regarding school closings and other cancellations within minutes of a decision.
2. School Messenger:
Phone and optional voice/text messages are sent to school families when classes are cancelled, delayed or students are released early.
3. Social Media:
We will post information on the Frontier Schools District Facebook and Twitter pages.
4. Radio & TV:
Local Stations share announcements on-air and on their websites.
