8th Grade Promotion
Our GMS 8th grade Promotion Ceremony is just around the corner. We celebrate our students with the Promotion Ceremony on Friday, June 6 at 9:00am. The Ceremony will take place on the grass near the 700 building. This area is in the Northeast corner of the school.
- Gates open at 8:45am
- Bring your own lawn chairs with you for your family's seating
- Students will have a chair placed on the field for them
- No balloon bouquets
- No air horns
- Umbrellas are allowed until the ceremony begins. Please lower them when the ceremony starts
- Your child will learn where they will sit in the ceremony during the practice on Thursday morning. I will ask them to remember where they sit and share that information with their families.
We look forward to a wonderful event as we say goodbye to our 8th grade students.

8th grade dance
The 8th grade dance is just around the corner, and we need your help to make it a night to remember! Date is May 30th from 6-8pm in the MPR.
ASB is hosting this special event with the magical theme "Meet Me at Midnight", and PTSA is jumping in to help organize volunteers. We’re looking for:
- Crafty Volunteers – Help us decorate or create props to bring the theme to life.
- Desserts & Drinks Donors – Sign up to bring sweet treats or beverages for the night.
- Food Pickup Helpers – Grab pre-ordered food for the event. You’ll be reimbursed by ASB or issued a check!
Let’s make this milestone memorable for our amazing 8th graders. The more parents involved, the more magical it will feel—and your kids will love knowing you helped make it happen!
If you have any questions, please contact PTSA or reach out to Ms. Pettit directly.
We appreciate your support more than you know!
With gratitude,
ASB & PTSA
