During the month of May, we encourage all of our students, staff and families to show support for mental health by wearing the color green on every Monday throughout the month. Green is the official color for mental health awareness as green represents renewal, hope, and vitality. To be seen in green, whether a complete outfit or just a touch of green, sends a message of advocacy and support for the importance of mental health.

Our last ROPAC meeting of the 24-25 school year is around the corner! Please come join us for community with your current concerns & celebrations, but also for sharing your topics of interest that you'd love to see resources/presentations on for the upcoming 25-26 school year. Meeting is Wednesday May 21st from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Administrative Building (800 Devillen Ave, Royal Oak 48073). See you there!

Field day will be held on Thursday, May 22 at Upton Elementary. This year we will have TWO sessions for field day :

Session 1 = 8:45 - 11:00 AM for DK - 2nd Grade

Session 2 = 12:45 - 3:00 PM for 3rd - 5th Grade

In observance of Memorial Day, there is no school on Friday, May 23, or Monday, May 26. Enjoy your weekend and please remember those who have given their lives for our country.

On June 6, our PTA will be hosting our school carnival from 5:30-8:00 p.m. We are so excited for this annual event. In order to make it a success for our students, we need some help! Please consider volunteering your time. Thank you!

The Royal Oak Athletic Boosters has created a fan shop for our future Bulldogs! There are youth and adult sizes available. The shop closes on May 27th at 11pm and orders typically ship 3 weeks after the shop closes. Get your Bulldog gear now for the Fall!

Royal Oak Athletic Boosters

"Blessings in a Backpack” is a program designed to provide students on the free and reduced lunch program with enough food for three meals a day during the weekends. This program is active in Royal Oak Schools. If you agree to take part in this program during the school year, your child will receive a bag filled with food for the weekend. A bag of food will be put in your child's locker for take home on Fridays. The simple meals may include food like macaroni and cheese, beef ravioli, canned fruit, granola bars, soups, juice and other items. Students will receive a bag every week.

If you would like to have your child participate in this program, fill out the form below and mail it to the board office at 800 Devillen, Royal Oak, MI 48073, or just hit submit on this form. Please be sure to indicate on the form if you child has any food allergies. If your child has a food allergy, you as the parent are responsible for checking all food labels when the food arrives home. Royal Oak Schools, as well as Blessings in a Backpack, will not be held responsible for any accidental food allergen exposure.
