Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 15th December 2017
'Tis the season to be jolly
The Sound of Singing
We have been enjoying hearing Christmas songs and carols echoing in the hallways this week. Hopefully many of you heard our talented Singing Squad when they entertained us at the Friends' Christmas Fair, but we can promise you more opportunities if you have missed out so far. Of course, we all get a chance to join in some of the singing at the Nativity on Monday morning in the Cathedral. The service starts at 10 o'clock, but we recommend getting there earlier.
The Singing Squad has also been out and about in Ripon, including Tuesday afternoon when they enjoyed sharing carols with the residents at Sunnyfield Lodge. Thank you to Mrs Elcock for leading the Squad and organising events for them.
We clearly have some very talented singers here, as we are proud to announce that Tom Hughes in Year 5 is a soloist in the production of The Snowman at York Minster this weekend.
A special event at The Workhouse Museum is publicised in the community section below; congratulations to Lily, one of our mums who has also let us know that there are some of our staff members and children in the video. Please support the event if you can.

look how our tree has grown
Thank you to those who have helped with our Advent project. Our tree continues to grow from all the tin cans you have donated. As you can see it has grown a lot and we have now collected 219 tin cans for our local food bank. We are still collecting up until the end of term.
Year 4 Celebration Assembly
The Welcome Worship was followed by Celebration Assembly so was a very positive way to end the week. We hope you all find a little time for quiet during the weekend.
film premiere on tuesday
