FEBRUARY'S FOCUS FOR THE DISTRICT IS COMPASSION
In February, our schools are dedicated to fostering the value of compassion among our students, which involves understanding, empathy, and kindness towards others. It’s about recognizing when someone needs help and taking steps to offer support or simply showing understanding and care. In our classrooms, we are engaging in various activities and discussions to help students understand the importance of being compassionate. We are also encouraging acts of compassion, whether it's through helping a classmate, or extending a kind word to someone who needs it.
How families can participate at home: At home, you can support this effort by discussing the importance of compassion and modeling compassionate behavior. Encourage your children to talk about their feelings and the feelings of others, and discuss different ways of showing care and support. Participating in family activities that involve helping others, such as volunteering or simple acts of kindness like writing a thank-you note, can also reinforce these values. By working together, we can help our children develop into empathetic and caring individuals, ready to make a positive impact on those around them.
SPRING SPORTS PHYSICALS
In order for students to participate in spring sports at IE, physical packets are due by February 28.
WINTER SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS
Boys' Basketball
The boys basketball team had a wonderful season with many hard fought wins, and tough competitive losses. We will look to build on our success and competitive nature as a program next season.
Girls' Basketball
Huge congratulations to the girls' basketball A team for dominating the Red division for the second year in a row! An impressive 7-1 division record and 11-2 overall. Shoutout to Montanna Knoeller for making the All-Tournament team and both Montanna and Chloe Thomas for earning spots on the Red Division All-Star team—well deserved! Also, big props to the B team for their stellar 9-1 season. The future looks bright for this program—we are looking forward to keeping the championship streak alive next year! Great season girls!
