Principal Update for Families

We are so excited to welcome new students to Ben Steele tomorrow! Please read the following important information about schedules, drop off locations and times, and our updated district and school handbooks.

We will have new schedules printed for all students in case they are forgotten or other changes needed to be made. These will be handed out to students on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

Please use the the yellow arrow areas indicated below to drop off and pick up your student at Ben Steele. You may use the main entrance located off Grand Ave or the first parking lot located off of 56th Street. Red X areas are NOT for student drop off / pick up

Students may enter the building at 7:40 am if they are actively eating breakfast and for pre-arranged appointments with teachers. All other students will wait out front or in the outdoor Commons until 7:55 am.

All 6th grade students attend the first day of school on Tuesday, September 3rd from 8:10 am - 3:10 pm (buses will transport like normal)

New incoming 7th & 8th grade students can attend school on Tuesday, September 3rd from 8:10 am - 11 am (parents responsible for transportation home)

All Ben Steele students will attend classes on Wednesday, September 4th (released at 2:10 pm)

If your student is interested in participating in sports, please make sure that you complete the sports forms and have a sports physical completed. There are paper packets available in the main office or you may access them online:

• Student Activities Participation Handbook
• Students need to complete this sports physical form

• We need all incoming 7th grade students' tDap proof of immunization turned into the main office before the first day of school
• If your student will be riding the bus and was enrolled in BPS last year, you should have already received a ticket for the bus in your email
