January 1, 2025
Dear Greensview Families,
Happy New Year! January is off to an exciting start at Greensview Elementary!
This week, we’re thrilled to send our 5th graders to BizTown on January 13, where they’ll apply real-world business skills. Fire Safety Week follows from January 14–17, an essential learning opportunity for all students. Please note, there is no school on January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Exciting opportunities continue with the PTO Pancake Breakfast on January 25, and we invite families to join us for this fun community event. Looking ahead, mark your calendars for our Kindergarten Information Night on January 30 and Multi-Cultural Night on February 28!
For our 5th graders participating in the Blue Jackets Power Play Challenge, remember to redeem your free hockey stick and ball by January 17.
Finally, we encourage all families to participate in the UACA Golden Apple Awards and recognize our amazing staff by submitting nominations at www.UACA.org.
Warm regards,
Principal Wulf

The school is not organizing a book sale. Instead, families can purchase copies of Aaron's books from their favorite book store and send them to school if they wish to have the author sign them. Signed books will be returned home with students on the day of the author visit. If you’re interested in having books that you purchased signed by the author, send your books (please include your child’s name and teacher) to the school library by Tuesday, February 11th. *Books will not be personalized, they will only be signed by the author.
Thank you Greensview PTO & UAEF for funding this author visit!
5th grade students will complete the Columbus Blue Jackets Power Play Challenge in PE classes this year.
The Blue Jackets Power Play Challenge, presented by Greif and OhioHealth, is a FREE, hockey-themed wellness curriculum to assist physical education teachers in the fight against childhood obesity. The goal is to make a healthy lifestyle both enjoyable and easy for kids to maintain.
As a reward for your 5th grade child’s hard work in completing the program, they are eligible to redeem a FREE Blue Jackets hockey stick and ball combination set! To redeem your free hockey stick and ball, visit www.bluejackets.com/freestick and enter the required information.
This redemption offer will close on January 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM ET. Please submit your information before then to guarantee your free stick and ball set. Orders will ship directly to the address you provide.

Arrival to school in the morning - Snow is making things more challenging!
This is a good time to review and remind everyone about our Stop, Drop and Go. We are very lucky to have a system in place that gets students into the building quickly and parents on their way to work in an efficient manner. You can help everyone by adhering to the following guidelines:
Have the children ready to exit before getting into the drop line
Drivers and adults must stay in their vehicle. If you have to exit the car to help your child, the Stop, Drop, and Go line is not the best place to drop off your child (Park on the South side of Langston and assist your child if they are not yet able to navigate the drop off on their own)
For their safety, have your child exit the car on the curbside and not into the street, if you have to shuffle car seats, please make that change.
Please pull all the way forward when entering the Drop Line.
Children can arrive at 8:00. We have many cars arriving between 8:07-8:15, come a couple of minutes early, and the line is much quicker.
After 8:15 the doors close and students must enter the front doors.
Following the guidelines ensures safety, and everyone gets to where they are headed quickly and with a smile on their face!
Thank you!

Riding the Bus with a friend - Transportation
Occasionally, students like to have friends ride home with them on the bus. If buses are filled to capacity, friends will not be permitted to ride. In order for friends to ride, parents must call or email the bus garage to receive permission before a student may ride.

Dropping off items at school (in the office) for your children
We strive to support our students in every way possible, but delivering items to students during the day can present challenges. Our teachers are focused on instruction and may not frequently check their emails, and calling into the classroom disrupts the flow of lessons. While essential items like lunches and backpacks will always be prioritized, other items such as water bottles, snacks, or iPads (unless specifically requested by the teacher) are not considered urgent. To help foster responsibility, we encourage you to keep these items at home until the next day. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
