- Grassroots Soccer: Congratulations and many thanks to Owen Wagner for organizing the first local Grassroot Soccer (GRS) Tournament! Last year, Owen joined forces with the organization's co-founder, Ethan Zohn, a former soccer pro. GRS uses soccer to connect adolescents in Africa with life-saving health information and services. The tournament was open to 6-8th grade boys--48 of them--and Owen enlisted his friends and teammates to help on the day of the event. In all, through Owen’s efforts, over $2,500.00 was raised for the cause! Way to go, Owen! See pics here.
Prom Dress Drive: Clare Piccone had an idea to give her old prom dresses new life. She brought it to Maya Sperling and Natalie Silva of the Women in Business Club and presto! The 2024 Prom Dress Drive was born. Maya and Natalie are working with the Sharing Shelf to bring gently used prom dresses to the needy. The drive starts on Wednesday, April 24th and will run through the second week of May. If you have a prom dress that needs a new home, drop it off in the high school office.
