BHS Happenings

BHS was full of school spirit last week as students participated in many of the Homecoming Week activities! Make sure to check out of all of the great pictures below of the fun filled theme days and pep rally! Our BHS Warhawks defeated Lewis Mills on Friday Night and our student body danced the night away at our Homecoming Dance on Saturday. A great time was had by all that participated!

Report Cards for Quarter 1 are now available on your PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please login to your parent portal to view your child's report card. Report Cards are no longer mailed home. All progress reports and report cards can be accessed by:

1. Log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal Account (You must do this from a computer. Accessing PowerSchool on the app on your phone will not work.)
2. On the left hand side you will see an icon for Student Reports, click this icon.
3. Once in the Student Reports Screen, you should see a link titled, 2024 Q1 Report Card, click this link.
4. Your child's Q1 Report Card should appear on the screen.

We are excited to announce that BHS had a great Quarter 1 with 46% of our students making the Honor Roll! Stay tuned for details regarding our Quarte 1 Honor Roll Ceremony.

Football:

• On Friday, November 1st, BHS' Varsity Football Team defeated Lewis Mills, 42-0. Touchdowns for the Warhawks were scored by: Zakyi Kimber (4), Romar Heron (1), and Lamont Applewhite (1). The Warhawks are back in action this Thursday at home vs Plainville High School at 6:30 p.m.

Cheerleading:

• The Lady Warhawk Cheerleaders will be having Cheerleading Try-Outs on November 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the BHS Small Gym. Clinic Dates in preparation for try-outs will be held on 11/4, 11/5, 11/6 and 11/8 from 6-8 p.m.

All girls interested in participating in the Annual Powder Puff Flag Football Game should sign up with Mr. Kosis. The game will be held on Thursday, November 14th at 6:30 p.m.

Congratulations to BHS Junior, D'Asia Duncan for earning the bronze medal for her third place finish in the 400 Meter Hurdles at the International School Sport Federation Gymnasiade in Bahrain! What a great experience for D'Asia as she was given the opportunity to compete for Team USA and AAU at just sixteen years old and earned a medal! Congratulations D'Asia on such an amazing accomplishment!

BHS' Donald F. Harris Sr. AgriScience Center's FFA Board attended the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana from October 23-26, 2024. This was a great opportunity for our students to work with other leadership boards from across the country and educate themselves on FFA practices. The National FFA Convention & Expo is all about growing the next generation of leaders. No matter where you are in FFA, you’ll find inspiration and direction to become a leader and influencer, ready to make an impact.

Sophomore Junior College Planning Night will take place on Tuesday, November 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the BHS Library Media Center. We encourage all parents of sophomore and juniors to attend this important informational evening and learning more about the college process. Senior year will be here before you know it and it is best to be prepared with all the information you need regarding: the college application process, financial aid, finding the right college for your student, etc.

All families can also log on and order a FREE Digital SmileSafe card. If your child was absent on school picture day, there will be a make-up day on December 3rd.
