A Message from Principal Woofter
Happy 2025! It has been such a great week of getting acclimated back into the routines of school and catching up on all the adventures that took place over winter break. Students and teachers seemed to be excited to come back to school, though getting up early again was tough for many!
We started the new calendar year with an assembly to introduce our Character Trait for January which is Perseverance. After announcing our December Character Trait winners for showing Empathy and Compassion, our Eagle Ambassadors led us through vignettes showing different ways students can show perseverance in different situations. We concluded by recognizing our Fall/Winter Eagle Ambassadors and the various ways they have shown leadership and initiative around campus.
After coming back from a lengthy break, we have been reminding students of a few things related to dismissal. Car riders are asked to report directly to the car rider line and to watch for their vehicle. Also, students who walk home without an adult have been reminded that they need to report directly home after school while we still have adults on campus to assist with crosswalk duty. Some students were staying after school to play on the playground or engage in a football game when there are no adults to supervise once dismissal is complete. In an effort to keep everyone safe and accounted for, we have asked students to walk home right after school and check in with their families before meeting up with friends to play. Thank you for your continued support!
We are looking forward to a lot of exciting activities coming up during these next few months that are featured below! Of special note, we have a special speaker coming to Sherwood next week.
