GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER
The Lady Eagles are off to a great start this Fall Season. The Lady Eagles hosted Millville High School on Tuesday at Silver Eagle Stadium. After trailing at half, the Eagles responded with three goals in the second half. Aniyah Parker started the scoring with an upper panel blast from 35 yards out. Parker’s goal was an ESPN top 10 highlight. Brielle VonColln later buried the second goal from a pass off of Abby Mathis’ foot. The game winner would later be scored by freshman Jackie Brownlee. Her blast from the D-ring was hit with precision and confidence. The Eagles won 3-2. Goalie Abigail Lyon made 5 saves in the win.
The Lady Eagles took to the road on Thursday afternoon and headed to cross-town rival Mainland. The Eagles fought hard for 80 minutes and earned the result, 3-2 win. Goals scored by Aniyah Parker, Brielle VonColln and the game winner was Jackie Brownlee. Abigail Lyon earned her second consecutive win with 5 saves. The Eagles are currently 2-0 on the season.
FIELD HOCKEY
Field Hockey lost their season opener to St Joe. Roslyn Sanns had 12 saves in goal. Jamie Decker had a defensive save, and Ava Callio, Avery Bird, and Kaci Velardi all had shots on goal.
Next week, field hockey travels to Williamstown on Monday and plays their home opener against Hammonton on Wednesday.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Girls' Volleyball started the regular season with a tough nail-biting loss versus Cedar Creek. 11th grader Avery Hickey had 3 aces and 5 kills. The girls followed that up with a resounding win against Triton on Friday afternoon. 12th grader Journey Green had 6 aces and 11th grader Sam Battersby had 5 kills. Our next match is Monday at home versus Ocean City, followed by 3 more games next week!
