THIS WEEK AT MINSHEW!
MESSAGE FROM MRS. LARRIVIERE
Minshew Families-
Our week started with McKinney Mayor, George Fuller, coming to talk with our 3rd graders about local government and civic service. The students asked GREAT questions, and Mayor Fuller took the time to answer their questions. On Tuesday, our Kindergarteners had Community Helpers Day and rotated through several guest speakers who came to Minshew to share their experiences in their respective fields. We love having guest visitors share with our students and appreciate the time and effort it takes for others to come to our campus to share with our Colts.
There are a few highlights coming up, that I wanted to make sure you noted.
The PTA Reflections Contest deadline is October 31st. Information regarding this contest is included in the newsletter. We have had limited participation in this at Minshew this year, so I highly encourage your student to participate. All entries will be highlighted on the morning announcements!
PTA will open the Spirit Store on Thursday, October 31st, during all school lunches. If your student would like to purchase anything, we encourage you to send money in a clearly marked baggie or envelope.
Mark your calendar for Friday, November 8th! We will be celebrating Minshew’s 20th anniversary in a variety of ways!
8:10 am - Student assembly in the gym celebrating Minshew. Students should wear Minshew spirit wear or colors.
9:00 am - School wide picture outside in the shape of a “20” in the tradition of the last school wide picture that was made for the 10th anniversary in the shape of a “10”.
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm - PTA Sponsored Carnival – ALL Minshew families, past and present, are invited to this community celebration. Please see the information below.
Lastly, students are welcome to wear school appropriate costumes on October 31st. Please remember that they need to be able to sit in desks and play outside, so some costumes may be better for the evening and something different can be worn to school for comfort. Any form of weapons, blood, guts, or gore is not school appropriate.
Thank you for your continued support of our incredible school!
Go Colts!
