All classes will be walking to the Otsego District Public Library to learn about the Summer Reading Program!

Field Day at WSE

To help with team spirit and organization, please have your student(s) wear the following color shirt on Field Day:

Awards Assembly

Our Trimester Awards Assembly will be held on Wednesday, June 11 at 11:00 AM.

Parents are welcome to attend. Doors will open at 10:50 AM.

Please be sure to sign in at the office before heading to the gym.

Field Trip & School Event Parking

PLEASE park at the Middle School if you are attending a field trip or an event at WSE. This will ensure that we can have a normal dismissal. We have many upcoming events and we would like to avoid any added craziness at the end of each day.

Respond to Failure in Positive Ways

Everyone experiences a failure or setback at some point in their lives. The way you react to it can help shape your child’s character and academic achievement. Here are some suggestions to help your child bounce back from setbacks:

Remind your child that your love is unconditional - it is not tied to school performance or winning, etc.
Say that mistakes are actually opportunities for learning. Help your child think about what to do differently in the future.
Praise what you can. “Most of your answers were correct on this test. That’s an improvement.”
Move on. Don’t dwell on the failure. When families spend too much time talking about setbacks, children can have a harder time moving past them.
Offer support without taking over. If your child earns a low grade on a writing assignment, discuss ways to improve.
Be a role model. Handle your own mistakes and failures in positive ways.
