FROM THE DESK OF PRINCIPAL HERRING
January 6, 2025
Dear Ardmore Family,
As we embark on a new year, we want to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the families that form our wonderful school community. The first semester was truly exceptional, culminating in two delightful Holiday Jubilees Concerts that welcomed a record number of families to our school. This achievement is a testament to the collective commitment and steadfast support you have provided to our school.
Your collaboration has played a vital role in cultivating an atmosphere where our students feel acknowledged, supported, and cherished. Together, we have built a community that reflects the essence of our theme, The Ardmore Family! This shared dedication to our children and their education is genuinely uplifting. As we return from Winter Break, I urge you to keep encouraging our scholars with their homework and daily reading. Our efforts cannot succeed without your involvement; your partnership in ensuring our scholars remain engaged in reading and striving towards common goals is essential for our school’s success.
We are filled with enthusiasm and hope as we approach the state testing season. Together, as a family, we will continue to accomplish great things for our students. Your commitment, collaboration, and care make our school the exceptional place it is, and we are truly grateful to work alongside you in this important endeavor.
Thank you for everything you do to support our school and our students. We look forward to returning as soon as "Mother Nature" allows us to move past these snowy days!
In service to our scholars,
Melreta Herring, Principal
Brenda Holmes, Assistant Principal
Information to Parents/Guardians from School Nurse
Immunizations
All children by law must have the required State of Maryland immunizations in order to attend school. Parents are responsible for providing proof of immunizations to the school.
If your child receives an Immunization Exclusion Letter this school year, please contact your child’s healthcare provider to make sure your child is up to date with immunizations. Please provide the updated immunization record to the School Nurse. If not provided, your child will not be able to attend school effective the date stated on the Immunization Exclusion Letter. If your child doctor’s appointment date falls after the exclusion date on the Immunization Exclusion Letter, your child will still be excluded from school. If you have any questions please contact me at rayvenia.farrow@pgcps.org or (240) 696-8788.
Health Concerns
Parents/Guardians please complete the blue form that was given to your child indicating any medical conditions and allergies. Please return the form to the child's teacher as soon as possible.
Medications
No medication will be administered to your child without a completed Prescriber’s Medication Order Form (PMOF) and properly labeled medication container. Below is the link for Medication Forms.
If your child had medication(s) at the school last year, a new Prescriber’s Medication Form (PMOF) must be completed for this school year. A new properly labeled medication container must also be provided to the nurse.
