MNSAA Accreditation--February 19-21
Sacred Heart Catholic School has been accredited by the Minnesota Non-Public School Accrediting Association (MNSAA) since 1990. Every 7 years, a team of educators visit our school for three days to validate our Self-Study report. Last year, parents took part in a parent survey to give us feedback on our mission statement, philosophy, and educational programs. From staff and parent feedback, we have created strengths and challenges that will help us develop a strategic plan for the next 7 years.
Why get accredited?
- Credibility of the quality of a school program in the eyes of stakeholders and the public.
- A framework for the best possible educational program for learners.
- A public statement that the school is measured against rigorous standards and has developed a strategic plan for continuous improvement.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the parents, donors, and volunteers who made Saturday's marathon a huge success. Your dedication and support truly made a difference!
Special thanks to PTC, SAC, and the Knights of Columbus for their unwavering commitment and assistance. Thank you to the many parents that donated cookies, donuts and helped cross our students safely at the intersections. We also give a shout out to Starbucks in Robbinsdale for donating coffee!
This event wouldn’t have been possible without each of you. Thank you for being an essential part of our community!
Remember all pledge money is due on October 29th to qualify for prizes.
Remember each student is expected to turn in $300 in pledges to support Sacred Heart Catholic School.
2024 Marathon Funds Collected So Far
We have achieved 64% of our marathon goal collecting $28,805 so far. Please continue with your fundraising efforts. We appreciate the pledges that have been turned in so far.
Our goal is for EVERY student to bring in the required $300 fundraising goal for the Marathon.
All funds remain here at Sacred Heart and they are used to offset the rising costs of providing a quality education. So if you are asked, “Where does the money go?” It truly goes to support every part of our mission.

Art Adventure 2024
Calling for Art Adventure Volunteers!
Please consider being a “Picture Person” in a classroom! We present Art Adventure, a program created by the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, to students in November and December. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours. This year’s theme is How People Lived. Classroom Picture People are not art historians or artists themselves, instead, you will lead students in conversations about art, listen as they describe what they see, talk about what the artist is hoping to express, how the art makes them feel. Any parent would be a great Picture Person!
The MIA provides amazing virtual and in-person training, a printed book for you to keep, and art reproductions for presenting. Please use SignUp to claim your spot. Contact Joanna Rosendahl with any questions 612-876-1929 (call or text), email: joannarosendahl@gmail.com
Joanna is a volunteer and parent of a sixth grader and is coordinating Art Adventure this year.

Middle School Youth Group-Every Wednesday
Where: Good Shepherd Catholic Church
145 Jersey Ave. S. Golden Valley, MN (only a few minutes away from Sacred Heart)
Need more info: Contact Katie Kruc, youth minister, kkruc@shrmn.org
For the past few weeks, I've had a good gut check when Wednesday night came around. During the Northwest Catholic Youth Group meetings, we're answering the question of what it looks like to live out joy, how it's different and deeper than happiness, how it has many parts to it, but it is very simple. Even though I'm part of the team that helps to put on these nights and teach the messaGE, I think some of the students there understand me better.
These past two weeks have been truly amazing experiences. Seeing kids from three different communities come together and not only learn about Who Jesus is and how much His love covers everything, but also just have a time set aside to have fun during the busyness of the week has been very refreshing to see.
There is no shortage of these nights. Every Wednesday is a new opportunity for 6-8th graders to uncover a little bit more about the possible depths of joy, of friendship, and the beauty when urgent things are set aside for a time and the important things can take center stage (not to mention the snack bar is on an elevated level I didn't even know existed). Please join us!
Athletic Policy-Fundraising
Fundraising is an integral part of our school community and its continued success. Fundraising opportunities are pre-determined and new fundraising efforts are approved by the school principal and Pastor after consultation with the School Advisory Council and Parish Finance Committee. This process eliminates scheduling conflicts and ensures compliance with the Parish/School’s mission statement and philosophy. Archdiocesan and legal regulations are also considered when planning fundraising programs and events.
Annual Sacred Heart Fundraising Requirements
All Sacred Heart families are responsible to fundraise a total of $300.00 per student. This fundraising amount is built into the annual budget and helps keep tuition affordable. Families may either choose to add the $300.00 per child to the tuition contract at the beginning of the year or families may fundraise the $300.00 per child through any or all of the following events:
Annual Marathon for Non-public Education (October). Sacred Heart keeps 100% of proceeds. $300.00 per child recommended at a minimum. The Marathon is Sacred Heart Catholic School’s main fundraising event.
Christmas Wreaths-(October) Students sell wreaths, and other holiday decorations with 30% of sales benefitting the school. Delivery by Thanksgiving.
3. Gertens Plant Sale (March) 30% of the proceeds benefit the school and qualify towards fundraising dollars.

Parents, Grandparents and former Coaches!
Sacred Heart is in need of coaches for girls basketball, softball and baseball.
Positions are volunteer and can be used towards your family volunteer hours. Not to mention forming long, lasting relationships with Sacred Heart parents and students!
The girls’ basketball season runs from the beginning of January into the 2nd week of March.
Softball and baseball run concurrently from the beginning of April until the end of May.

Need help paying for tuition?
MN Fundraising Initiative (MNFI) secures contracts with over 23 venues in the greater Twin Cities area including Target Field, Target Center, Canterbury, and US Bank to operate food and beverage concessions stands at their events.
MNFI organizes teams of volunteers from all over the state of MN and WI who work together to run these stands. In turn, MNFI receives donations from these venues. The donations are then used to award grants to families in local communities to allow youth to attend private school, such as Sacred Heart Catholic School and participate in enrichment activities they may not otherwise be able to enjoy. Checks are mailed directly to Sacred Heart in your name.
Many of our school families use this organization to help pay for tuition.
