Finals Schedule
Please see below for our Spring semester finals schedule. We wish students luck in completing assessments and projects!
- Monday, May 19th - Blue Day 1st/3rd Period Finals
- Wednesday, May 21st - Blue Day 2nd/4th Period Finals
- Thursday, May 22nd - Gold Day 1st/3rd Period Finals
- Friday, May 23rd - Gold Day 2nd/4th Period Finals
*If a student needs to complete finals early, please contact Principal Dr. Catherine Vannatter.
*Students must complete all reassessments and submit all missing assignments by Friday, May 16th.
Upcoming Trace Days
We look forward to celebrating our students at our Trace Day on Friday, May 9th. And, to close out the 24-25 school year, we will host campus clean-up days on Tuesday, May 27th and Wednesday, May 28th. Students will assist with storing materials and equipment and preparing the campus for summer.

Wolfpack Rewards (REPEAT)
Students have continued to earn eBucks through eOS by exhibiting PACK (positive, ambitious, courageous, and kind) behavior! Students may spend these eBucks via a Google Form available in Canvas.

Also, please remember to return overdue library books! Students may incur fines for the cost of lost materials, so please return your books, etc.!

Students in the Agricultural Engineering Institute have assembled engines, completed stick welding and started wire welding, and completed a mobility lift project for disabled farmers.
Congratulations to following students who earned 1st Place in the FFA Bluegrass Region Career Development Event in Agricultural Mechanics: Jacob Carpenter, Carson Cundiff, Miles Hayward, and Ian Recktenwald! And, congratulations to the following students who earned 1st Place in the FFA Bluegrass Region Career Development Event in Small Power Equipment: Shelby Blair, Zaria McPherson, Imani Metoyer, and Finley Sullivan. Agribusiness - Equine Studies Program
Students in Equine Science (Level 1) have placed splint boots, learned to saddle with an English saddle, and had an in-hand horse contest judged by faculty members. Some students visited The Kentucky Horse Park to set-up for the Three Day Event. Students should prepare for their written and hands-on final assessment.
Students in Agribusiness and Farm Management (Level 2) learned to exercise horses, including lunging and handwalking, and how to saddle with a western saddle. Next, they will learn about budgeting, equine careers, and equine programs at colleges and universities across the United States. Students will visit the Kentucky Horseshoeing School to learn about hooves and the career of a farrier.
Students in Agricultural Sales and Marketing (Level 3) learned about horse racing and designed racetracks. Students visit the Keeneland Spring meet and met Kurt Becker, the track announcer. Next, students will learn to operate equipment, including hooking up trailers, loading and unloading horses, and how to operate Rugged Terrain Vehicles.
Food Science and Processing Program
Students in this program created a dish with an emphasis on protein and worked with livestock, including show animals, to practice management skills. Livestock exhibitors have trained and prepared show animals, along with completing official state tagging, to begin show season in May.
Pre-Veterinary Studies Program
Students in Animal Technology (Level 3) measured vital signs in horses and other livestock to compare with small animals. Students also observed Dr. Marty Riney complete dental exams and float horses' teeth. Students will create instructional videos to review for final assessments and visit Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital and Kesmarc Equine Rehabilitation. See the below photos.
Students in the Environmental Science and Natural Resources Institute have taken experiential learning trips to the Cincinnati Zoo and Salato Wildlife Education Center, in addition to working on maintaining the native plant garden near the outdoor classroom.
Students in the Plant Science Institute participated in the FFA National Land Judging Contest. See the below photos.

Foundational Courses
In Agriculture Communications, students have learned about visual communication, including photography and the elements and principles of composition and how to take professional headshots.
In Principles of Agricultural Science and Technology, student have completed their unit on plant science and will begin reviewing each agricultural pathway to prepare for a final project which includes interviewing faculty and staff.
Health and Physical Education
Spanish
Students in Spanish 2 completed collaborative projects on professional roles in agriculture, including completing mock job interviews.
Students in Advanced Spanish 3 used preterit and imperfect tenses, creating storybooks to demonstrate their proficiency.

Social Studies
Congratulations, Seal of Biliteracy Recipients!

Work-Based Learning
All students interested in Work-Based Learning for the 25-26 school year should answer phone calls and voicemails from potential employers. All students must have a placement by Tuesday, July 15th, notifying Work-Based Learning Coordinator Mrs. Nicki Jones about the placement when secured.
Interns at The Kentucky Castle have readied the no-till organic garden for planting by preparing the beds, laying irrigation lines, and mapping a design. Next, students will present their enhancement projects to faculty, staff, and owners.
