Hello Stellar Families !!
We are EXCITED to welcome our student leaders back to school tomorrow, Tuesday 10/15 at 8a. We are THANKFUL our area experienced minimal to no impact from the hurricane, and we are looking forward to getting back on schedule.
As mentioned last week, October is a busy month and we want to keep you informed as best we can. Please read the full newsletter for updates, new information, and insights into what's happening in our school. Every section below has been updated
FRIENDLY REMINDERS - UPDATED
- Doors Open at 8a . DO NOT drop off prior to 8a for student safety
- There is NO adult supervision before 8a
- Instruction begins at 8:25a PROMPTLY
- Arrival after 8:30a is considered TARDY
- All parents/guardians should have PIKMYKID app for dismissal
- All changes to PIKMYKID must be made in the app by 12p
- Dismissal begins at 2:50p ; 12:45a on early dismissal
- Classroom birthday parties ARE NOT permitted
- Parents may ONLY bring store bought cupcakes and store bought juice packages (ex: Kool-Aid Jammers, CapriSuns) during student lunch period.
- Please check with students teacher to coordinate and ask about allergies
- No balloons or student deliveries
- Halloween costumes are NOT to be worn at school
- Students will have an opportunity to wear costumes at our Trunk/Treat 10/24 and we have a book character parade during literacy month in January

TRUNKS NEEDED
Please come out to support and get involved in our FIRST Trunk/Treat hosted by PTA and Boys/Girls Club.

RED RIBBON WEEK
DRUG AWARENESS AND PREVENTION CAMPAIGN
Red Ribbon Week is a national drug awareness and prevention program observed every October
Students will have an opportunity to enjoy fun dress up days while raising awareness and education about drug abuse
OCTOBER- WEAR PINK
WEAR PINK EVERY TUESDAY IN OCTOBER
EVERY Tuesday in the Month of October student leaders may wear pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness
SAC (School Advisory Council)

The School Advisory Council is a committee made up of parents, staff, administrators, businesses, and community members who work together to help the school improve.

VOLUNTEERS
DCPS requires all volunteers and chaperones to have an active and valid volunteer application. Please visit duvalschools.org/volunteer to learn more information and complete application.
The same application is needed for volunteering opportunities and field trip chaperones. We encourage any parents, grandparents, family members who may want to get involved at BELA to complete
School-wide volunteer opportunities are sent out by PTA
SOCIAL MEDIA CHALLENGE
Our students created a social media challenge for our school theme this year. If we receive 1000 shares and 1000 likes the students will win a COWBOY STELLAR SHOWDOWN!
