Sensory Processing Disorders: Research and Implications
This webinar is designed for caretakers, teachers, therapists and parents who have an intermediate level of experience in enhancing the performance of children with Sensory Processing Disorders. The workshop covers topics including:
- Co-morbidity of SPD, ADHD, and ASD
- Red flags for recognizing symptoms of SPD
- Subtypes of SPD
- Recent clinical, neurological, and physiological research findings that confirm these phenotypes and help to clarify their symptoms
- Implications for intervention at home, school, and in the clinic based upon these research findings
Workshop Instructor:
Renee Okoye, MSHS, OTR, BCP, SIPT
Renée Okoye received her initial Certification in Occupational Therapy from NYU and M.S in Health Science from SUNY Stony Brook. Renée taught Advanced Clinical Neurology for 5 years at New York University and for 3 years at Touro College on Long Island prior to developing her own practice. Renée has been Board Certified in Pediatrics since the inception of the program with AOTA. She is SIPT certified and also certified in various listening protocols. Renée has lectured extensively throughout the United States for various agencies and schools and has also lectured abroad.
