Tomorrow, Thursday, August 29th, is our Parent Information Night from 5:00-6:30pm in our gym. From 5:00-5:30, Mrs. Taylor will be sharing information about Title 1 and answering questions from parents. From 5:30-6:30, parents are invited to stay in the gym as we go over Spalding, our Franklin program, and answer questions you might have that can help you support your child at our school. This is a parent only night, please no students. Have a great long weekend! -Principal Merritt

Title 1 Newsletter

"Helping Children Learn: Tips Families Can Use to Help Children Do Better in School" is the name of a monthly newsletter we receive as a Title 1 school. We also recieve a quarterly planner that has ideas families can use to help children do well in school everyday. We will be using the Downtown Dispatch to send out these communications when they become available.

ELA and Math Interventions

For the past two years, Franklin Downtown has used ESSER funding to hire additonal support staff to provide interventions to our 1st-6th grade students. These interventions have been focused on ELA and Math, and have proven to be effective based on student data and confidence of our students in their accelerated classroom.

With ESSER funding no longer available, this year we used Title 1 funds to continue to hire our instructional support staff to provide interventions in ELA and Math. These interventions will begin next week. Students that are participating in interventions will not be missing any new instruction or graded assignments. We are excited to continue to provide this support some of our students!

September is full of events and activities including our Parent Conference Week and our first Family Night at Peter Piper Pizza! Please take a moment to mark your calendars as to what's coming up in September.
