Middle School Golf Team 2017-2018

Welcome to the Information Page for WEMS Boys & Girls Golf Team

The season is just about to get started. Our Practices start in late February with our first match in March and our season ending the first week of May. We conduct most of our Practices at McCabe & Vinny Links. Fill out the Survey below and we will keep you posted on Practice & our Match Schedule. The Middle School Golf team will be conducted as a Club Sport. The organization that we are playing in is Tennessee Middle School Golf Association (TMSGA).

Flexibility of Club Golf

Our practices are flexible due to the time required for golf and the late afternoon release time for middle school. If a student has other interest like lacrosse, music, afterschool clubs, we can be flexible. Most matches are on Fridays and we would love for you to be able to join the team. Please join and help build our team!

Conditioning Practice in February starts Feb 6th!

Tuesdays: Location to be determined (at school)

Thursdays: Location at McCabe Putting Greens/Driving Range 4:15-5:15

March Practice schedule will be released after lacrosse schedule. Thank you for your patience.

No Practice when raining or approaching storm.

Golf is a great sport where you become friends with your opponents and build lasting friendships. We double up with JT Moore often because we are so close.

Our goal was to always travel the course with a smile. Even when the game wasn't going the way we wanted we always persevered and moved forward!

History of WEMS Golf Team

The golf team started 3 years ago with the help of a Sophomore at Hillsboro High. A former Blue Jay and a member of the Hillsboro Girls Golf team, she understood the importance of promoting girls golf in Middle School as an option for a sports team. With the help of her mom, Joyce Claassen (Librarian at Hillsboro High and former librarian at Sylvan Park), she was able to kick off the first golf team at West End Middle. 2016 was the first year for a Boys team. Last year we combined with our Cluster School JT Moore to help build a stronger team. We plan to work alongside JT Moore again to help build the love of golf in our Hillsboro cluster.
