Meaux Elementary

Kindergarten through 3rd Grade students will be testing for DIBELS End of Year measures on Monday, April 7th. It is important for your child to be in attendance on this day in order to complete testing.

LEAP Testing for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be conducted starting on Wednesday, April 30th, and will run through Tuesday, May 6th. The date is fast approaching and will be the week we return from Spring Break on the calendar. Students must be in attendance and arrive on time each day. Please do not schedule any appointments during this week of testing. They must be well rested and come to school ready to 'Rock the Test". They have worked hard throughout the year and we want them to show what they know. Also as a reminder, there will be NO $1.00 Jean/any bottom day of the Friday during the week of testing.

In March our 4-H club teamed up with the Jr. Beta Club and the

entire school to collect Chef Boyardee Meals. The

collected meals were donated to homes that house St. Jude patients. Our

small school came together and collected over 500 meals. Way to

GEAUX team MEAUX!

Achievement Day was held on Saturday

March 22nd at Kaplan High School and we had several members

participate. End of the year 4-H field trip information will be sent

home soon to students who met the requirements to attend.

In celebration of "March is Music Month", our First Grade students met with their Fifth Grade buddy to share their musical talents. Students sang and performed musical selctions under the direction of Mrs. Lisa Blaney, music teacher.

Congratulations to our Meaux Fitness Team who brought home the first-place trophy from the Parish Meet. Proudly representing Team Meaux were Camille Woodard, Khliyah Baudoin, Myion Levine, Jed Abshire, Graham Broussard, and Ruby d'Augereau. Also shown is Mrs. Michelle Caldwell, PE teacher and coach.

Team member, Graham Broussard placed 2nd overall at the Parish Fitness Meet and will be attending the State Meet. The State Fitness Meet will be held on Saturday, April 12th in Pineville, Louisiana. Good luck to Graham and the Vermilion Team.

These four fabulous fourth-grade boys donated to Share the Fair on the last day of the Book Fair. Because of their generosity, students who may not have been able to have a book will be able to select one of their own. Thank you to Cortland Davidson, Zeke LeJeune, Aiden Meaux, and Jason Joiner! We appreciate your BIG Hearts and generosity.

April 2, 2025, is Paraprofessional Appreciation Day. We wanted to stop and thank these special ladies for the time, commitment, and hard work they exhibit daily for our Meaux Elementary students!

April 4, 2025, is National School Librarian Day. Our students, faculty, and staff are super grateful for Mrs. Laura Chapman.
