Virtual Learning Week 3 Message
Summary of the video message
Remember to check your google classrooms or other communications throughout the school day. You may start seeing messages from your Coaches and Advisers in addition to your classroom teachers.
All students are expected to be ready for classes by 8:30. Our school day is running daily from 8:30 - 12:30. Last week we started our A/B day rotation to limit the amount of work you are doing on a daily basis. You are responsible to attend the 4 classes per day according to your schedule.
Communicate with your teacher if there is an issue at home with this. Waking up late is not an excuse for missing class!
You need to log in and post to each teacher’s attendance prior to noon.
School work must be completed to your teacher's satisfaction in order to be promoted to next grade level or to graduate. We are still under the same grading system, credit system, etc. If you do not complete your work, you are jeopardizing moving up to the next grade level or graduating.
If teachers are running a live Zoom lesson, you are expected to be there. They will run them at the scheduled time according to our A/B bell schedule. Again, you must communicate if there is an issue at home. An alternate assginment may also be given if you miss classes.
ZOOM Etiquette
Being on Zoom should be treated as close to your real classroom as possible. You are also expected to arrive on time. if there's technical difficulties that's one thing. But "waking up late" is not an excuse.
Find a quiet place, free from distraction (siblings, pets, parents, televisions).
Maintain RESPECT in both speaking, writing, and appearance.
Stay on mute if not participating verbally to elminate background noise.
Refrain from chewing gum, eating, or drinking in front of the camera.
You need to use your real name while engaging in Zoom.
If you choose to use a virtual background, please ensure it is tasteful, and not a distraction to others in your class.
- If necessary, your teacher may block your video feed, mute you or kick you back to the waiting room. If a teacher has an issue with your conduct, you may be referred to Ms. Ritchie. Parents will be called and if the behavior continues, you may not be permitted to participate and alternate assignments may be given to make up your work/credits.
REMEMBER,THIS IS A CLASS, SO TREAT IT AS SUCH!
