Pirates Post
Week of December 18th
Message from Principal Drew...
We have a unique schedule this week and we want to make sure that everyone is aware. This is a three day week. We will only have school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Monday is third period exams for all students and Tuesday is fourth period exams for all students. Wednesday will be a make up exam day for any student that missed their exams. PCHS will also have early release each day this week. All students will be dismissed at 12:30 each day. This means that your child will need to be picked up at this time for car riders and that bus riders will be home about 2 1/2 hours earlier than normal. Students leaving immediately after the exam period has concluded will still need to bring a handwritten note signed by a parent to the office before the exam period each day in order to leave. We appreciate your attention to this schedule and your support with your students preparation for final exams.
Congratulations to the following football players for being named All-Conference: Omaree Hunter, Jarmon Overton, Keonte Foreman, Jamarion Sutton, Dakota Mayo, Jalynn Nelson, Steven Elliott and Braylon Knapp. Great job fellas!

Counselor's Corner: Student Services
We hope your students will be a part of the fun and join the more than 12,000 North Carolina students from over 750 schools that have participated in the NC Aviation Contest since 2013.
The January 17 deadline for this year’s contest is just around the corner, so please share this email with the students and teachers at your school. Some students may want to work on their artwork during the upcoming holiday break.
Don’t forget: Cash prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 winners in each age category and their schools and EVERY student who participates in the contest will receive a certificate of participation.
Learn more about this year’s theme ("Air Sports for a Peaceful World”) at https://nasao.org/page/international-aviation-art-contest. Note: Our state deadline differs from the date shown on this webpage.
Contest tips, rules, and the required Certificate of Authenticity may be found at https://www.ncdot.gov/divisions/aviation/aviation-art-contest/Pages/contest-rules.aspx
As a reminder, the artwork will be returned if:
· The student does not place (1st, 2nd, 3rd) at the National or International level, and
· Appropriate return packaging/mailer and postage are provided by the student or school at the time the artwork is submitted.
