QMS Update
Please join me in congratulating Principal Dave McGovern on his new appointment as Principal of the Woodland Elementary School in Milford, effective July 1, 2024. Mr. McGovern has served in Mansfield for nine years as both an Assistant Principal and Principal of QMS. Mr. McGovern has made numerous positive changes and advancements at QMS and we wish him all the best in his new position, which is not only in his hometown, but is just a few minutes from his home. Mr. McGovern would like to express that it has been a great honor to be part of the Mansfield schools community for the past nine years.
In the next few days we will post for a new principal and a search committee will be convened.
MHS Art Display at Mansfield Public Library
March is Youth Arts Month, a national celebration that emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages support for quality art programs in schools. Arts education embodies critical, analytical, and conceptual thinking and allows for exploration of varied cultures, concepts and perspectives to prepare students to be better global citizens.
Mansfield High School is proud to announce that it will recognize Youth Art Month with a display of student work at Mansfield Public Library from March 11-31, 2024. The artwork created by students from grades 9-12, are enrolled in Art 1, Art 2, Advanced Studio Drawing, Portfolio Preparation, Watercolor, and Beyond and Digital Art. The works on display were selected by MHS Art Teachers.
We hope you stop by the public library and enjoy the display.
Great Mansfield Cleanup
Spring is here and that means it’s once again time for Keep Mansfield Beautiful’s annual Great Mansfield Cleanup. This year’s cleanup takes place on Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., rain or shine, followed by a volunteer-appreciation pizza party for volunteers on the South Common at Town Hall.
Join your classmates, friends, family, and neighbors and show your pride in a cleaner, greener Mansfield. Students can also earn community service hours by participating.
The deadline for registering for this year’s Great Mansfield Cleanup is Wednesday, April 17. The first 500 people to register will receive free tee shirts. Volunteers can sign up at www.keepmansfieldbeautiful.com.
