Being on time to school matters!
With the return of rain and colder weather, we’ve noticed that students are arriving later to school. Being on time is important for your child’s success. Doors open at 7:30 a.m., and class begins promptly at 7:45 a.m. Many classrooms start the day with connection activities right at 7:45, which are essential for helping students begin their day regulated and ready to learn.
Please prioritize getting your child to school on time so they can start their day off right.
Thank you for your support!
Crossing the road safely
For safety, please be sure to only cross the street at designated crossing areas only. We have seen an increase in people crossing in the middle of the street. This is very unsafe. In order to remain visible, please cross at the crosswalks only. Thank you!
Reminder: Cell Phones/Smartwatch school policy
At the elementary level, students should not have access to their cell phones during the school day. According to our school policy, outlined in the Student/Family Handbook, cell phones must be "off and away." We understand that parents may provide cell phones or watches for safety reasons, and we respect that.
If you need to contact your child during the day, please call the front office or reach out to the teacher directly. Texting or calling your child during school hours can unintentionally encourage cell phone use in class. We ask for your help in supporting our policy by not texting or answering calls from your child during the school day.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Celebrating Black History Month
February is Black History Month, a time to honor the rich contributions of Black individuals throughout history and reflect on the ongoing journey toward equality. This month, we encourage our students to explore and celebrate the achievements, culture, and impact of Black leaders, both past and present. Let’s work together to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse histories that shape our community.
Kindness Week
February 10-14 is Sato Kindness Week! Our goal during this week is to emphasize kindness and inclusivity within our learning environment, fostering appreciation and spreading kindness to all. All activities will be completed at school.

Elementary students are encouraged to create a card and show appreciation for their bus driver during the week. On Wednesday, 2/12, all elementary students who ride their school bus will also receive a prize! For more information and to download a card template visit www.beaverton.k12.or.us/safe-routes
