November 15th 2024 Principal's Message
Hello Blevins Families,
This week, we recognized Veteran's Day and I'd like to start by thanking the members of our school community who are veterans. Thanks for your service and commitment!
This is also a shout-out to our student musicians. In the past couple of weeks, our band, choir, and orchestra students have held incredible performances. I'm always thrilled to see the growth our students make in their musical abilities, as well as their passion for the program. Our boys' basketball team is also having a great season, showing commitment and Bruin pride.
Please join us for Open House on Tuesday, from 5:30-7pm. This event welcomes our 5th grade families and is also open to our current families to see what Blevins is all about. This event showcases the rigorous and hands-on learning our students engage with in their Project-Based Learning (PBL) Classes. See you there!
Proudly,
Joe Zappa, Principal

When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. Our focus on the trip will be to connect our standards in social studies to the real world while still having a blast! This trip is the reason I teach social studies, and I would love to share that experience with your student.
In this info session, we’ll talk about:
- How this opportunity will benefit your student
- What we’ll see and do on our trip
- Everything that’s included in this experience
- How your child can earn academic credit
- How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
- How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
Thanks,
Brook Rajnowski

Homeless Youth Awareness Month
Homeless Youth Awareness Month
Poudre School District serves approximately 1,500 students experiencing homelessness. The number of PSD families and youth experiencing homelessness continues to increase and their needs have risen exponentially. Currently, one out of every twenty students is experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity in our district. Information and teaching resources on supporting students experiencing homelessness can be found at the National Network for Youth, and Learning for Justice sites. Local information about PSD can be found on the PSD website. You can make a difference just by being aware of the issue and spreading that awareness to your sphere of influence such as family, friends, colleagues. If you are interested in ways you can help minimize the impact of homelessness for our students, please consider donating directly to the PSD McKinney-Vento fund by clicking here. Funds go directly to removing educational barriers for students who are experiencing homelessness, so they have access to school and have the support to be successful. Additionally, if you are interested in your donation being able to support beyond educational barriers to support families with basic needs and even housing assistance, please consider donating to the PSD Foundation’s Compassion Fund using this link. Thank you, and we wish you all a happy Fall Season!
