Dakota Minute
Principal Update
As we wrap up the first quarter, I wanted to say how proud I am of our students here at DMMS. We had a great first quarter and are off to a very strong start to the year. On Monday, November 11th, you will have communication from your student's advisory teacher in regards to how to access your students grades and receive our fall conference sign up for Novemeber 21st and 25th.
As we start the second quarter, I want to remind students and families of consistent attendance. Consistent attendance is when a student attends school more than 90 percent of their scool days. This is somthing our attendance team monitors often. In September, 83.72% of our students had consistent attendance and in October we had 84.86% students have consistent attendance. We are hoping to see these numbers increase.
- If you have any questions in regards to grades, please make sure to reach out to your student's teachers.
- If you need assistance with sigining up for conferences, please reach out to our main office at (507)387-5077 option 0 or dmms@isd77.org
- If you have any questions in regards to attendance please reach out to Heidi, our attendance secretary, at dmmsattendance@isd77.org or (507)387-5077 option 1
Gratefully,
Principal Hyer
Road Construction
We wanted to inform you that there will be construction occurring on Howard Drive starting Monday, November 11th.We are working together with the City of North Mankato and the construction company to limit disruptions to our school traffic during pick up and drop off times. The construction will last approximately 3 weeks and will be happening all along Howard Drive.
Winter Gear Needed
As seasons change and snow starts to fly, we are looking for warm winter gear for students. If you have any extra that you are willing to donate, please connect with our School Social Worker, Rachel McNamara at rmcnam1@isd77.org
Kleenex Needed
It is coming to be that time of year when the sniffles arrive. If you have any extra Kleenex that you are willing to donate to DMMS classrooms, we would gladly take some! You are more than welcome to drop them off in the Main Office for our classrooms.
Thank you!
PBIS Update
Recognizing Positive Behavior: PBIS Team
Shout Out Link
Our Dakota Meadows students do all kinds of wonderful things outside of school classrooms. We don't always know what these are. Use this form to SHOUT OUT DMMS students being awesome.
- Do you notice great behavior from kids at sporting events?
- Did you see a student in a theater performance?
- Did one of your advisory students volunteer in the community and tell you about it?
Let us know who we should recognize. SHOUT OUT LINK
PTA One and Done
Students should have brought home a hard copy of our PTA One and Done Fundraiser. If you have not seen a hard copy, please make sure to connect with your student/s.
HERE you will find a digital copy for your record.
Sign Up! Fall Conferences
Our fall conferences are coming up soon! Please mark on your calendars that they will be held at DMMS on Thursday, November 21st and Monday, November 25th.
Please see a message from your advisory teacher on Monday, November 1th on how to sign up via PTCFast.
Drop Off And Pick Up
Construction will continue throughout the 2024-25 school year as work on the new pool progresses. Construction fences and concrete barriers (see attachment remain in place around the parent drop-off/pick-up area.
To help reduce congestion on Howard Drive and in the DMMS parking lot, we offer the following suggestions:
Student Pick-Up and Drop-Off Areas:
School Lot: Please use both lanes and take turns merging near the pick-up/drop-off area.
Crossview Church: Please enter the parking lot and find a parking space. DO NOT stop or park in the roundabout, as this may result in a ticket.
Caswell North: Please find a place to park and wait for your student. Students may use the trail from campus to Caswell North.
Early Releases
Two hour early releases will take place on the following dates:
November 13th, 2024. December 11th, 2024. January 8th, 2025. February 12th, 2025. March 12th, 2025. April 9th, 2025. May 14th, 2025.

Student Athletes that participate at the high school level may have practices as normal but will have to provide their own transportation or contact their coach.
PTA Update
The first school dance of the year was a success, thank you to all who were able to help! Up next, DMMS PTA is preparing for meals to serve to staff during fall conferences, and facilitating a book fair during conference hours. If you are interested in helping with either of these, please reach out via email at ptadmms@gmail.com.
The One and Done fundraiser is underway and we are grateful to all who have donated! We are currently $15000 shy from our annual goal and we need your help to bring awareness to the cause. Feel free to share our donation link on social media and with friends and family. As a group, we are capable of reaching our goal!
Thank you again for your interest and participation in PTA. We look forward to continuing to supporting our students together!
