Happy Friday and St. Patrick’s Day Weekend!

We have made it to the end of the third quarter! It is hard to believe that we are 75% done with the 2017-2018 school year! Teachers are finalizing grades for the quarter and the final report cards will be available on Jupiter by the end of next week. The start of a new quarter is a great time for students to continue with good habits and start fresh if necessary! Please be sure to check Jupiter regularly and be in contact with the teachers with any concerns or celebrations!

Holy Name Families raised $274.81 during our Chick Fil A Chow With The Cow Event. Great job, Giants!

Our Lenten journey. Our Catholic community in the U.S. does something amazing each Lent. We come together to practice prayer, fasting and almsgiving—and by doing so we help lift families and communities out of poverty and put them on a path toward resilience, prosperity and stability. That’s the CRS Rice Bowl effect.

This week, the students brought home CRS (Catholic Relief Service) Rice Bowls. CRS, as the official overseas humanitarian agency of the U.S. Catholic Church works in 112 countries, helping over 121 million people a year. It is through the Rice Bowl funds that we help development programs in many poor countries around the world. Projects include clean drinking water for vulnerable communities, seeds and training support to help farmers improve harvests, and health exams and treatment support for children. And because our U.S. Catholic Church believes we need to love our neighbors both locally and globally, 25% of Rice Bowl funds raised in our parishes and schools is returned to the diocese to be used as Matthew 25 Rice Bowl Grants to help alleviate poverty and hunger in our archdiocesan area. Through this tradition, we have helped families around the world and in our own backyard by raising our voices and our prayers and by making sacrificial gifts. Learn more at crsricebowl.org.

Our annual father/daughter dance will take place on Friday, April 20 from 7:00-9:00! We will need the number of daughters and father figures that will be attending. The cost is $10 per family. We are looking forward to this special evening!

Irish Concert:

Primary and intermediate students are looking forward to the 2nd annual ‘Holy Name Irish Concert’!

Candy Donation time is here again! We are collecting bags of small, individually wrapped candy to be used to fill the eggs for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. It is time for Holy Name Altar Society Fall Rummage Sale. Clean out your closets, drawers, sheds, and basements. Find whatever you can. Then bring all clean, useable items to the PLC Gym, on, but not before, Wednesday, April 11th, 2018 thru Thursday, April 12th, 2018 between 10:00am – 7:00pm.

**NOTE: No items will be accepted on Friday, April 13th, 2018. This day is set aside for final preparation of marking, pricing, and set-up!!

Items needed:

· Good clean clothing: dresses, skirts, pants, slacks, jeans, shirts, sweaters, coats, jackets, shoes, and boots of all sizes for men, women, children, and babies. Along with purses, belts, ties, and scarves.

• Furniture, TV’s, and appliances
• Tools, knick-knacks, crafts, craft materials, and yarn
• Pots, pans, dishes, cups, glasses, cooking utensils, and silverware
• Curtains, drapes, bedspreads, blankets, sheets, pillowcases, bathroom items (wash cloths, towels), kitchen towels, table linens.

• Other miscellaneous items

Volunteers needed, young and old alike, for setting up on Tuesday Night, April 10th starting at 6:00 pm. We will be setting up stage, tables and additional tasks. Need help during the week from Wednesday, 4/11 thru Friday, 4/13 from 10:00am – 7:30 pm. We will be sorting, folding, placing and pricing items. Lots of help is needed for tearing down on Saturday, April 14th, 2018, starting at 2:30pm after the rummage sale.

Roncalli is excited to welcome the Class of 2022 next fall!

As a reminder, the Application for Admission is now available online at www.roncalli.org. To access the registration site, please click the text that reads "Complete Admission Application Online" underneath the scrolling photos. Once the application is complete and the $100 registration fee is received, you may continue the registration process. For those who have not been in a South Deanery Catholic grade school for grades seven and eight, those next steps will include scheduling an admissions interview for Saturday, January 20 (limited space available). For all others, it will be scheduling your appointment to meet with your student's counselor to create their freshman year schedule.

RONCALLI WRESTLING

As CYO Wrestling Season comes to an end. Want to remind you of the opportunity to continue wrestling with Rebel Wrestling Foundation (Roncalli's Wrestling Club). Practices for Grades K-12 are on Tuesday and Thursday 4:15pm-5:30pm. All workouts are ran by RHS Head Coach Wade McClurg and his staff. Rebel Wrestling Foundation will also do some spring club competitions/meets if you are interested in getting more matches. If you are interested in joining the club please contact Coach McClurg.
